rite now, i have changed to Mary H diet, to see if the kids will eat this concoction any better than what they had already tried. i don't know how these guys continue to never eat, but yet don't loose the weight(of which i am grateful for)
Maggie is 184-Mollie is 179-Duckie is 156-Gizmo is 153.
they are active, & get along great. but, i always throw out more than they eat, so, one time, i only put 1 cube of veggie, & 1 cube of fruit (rather than the prescribed diet of 1 cube per 2 gliders),& there was still some left over.
Mary's diet is 1 cube ensure, 1 cube yogurt, 2 cubes mixed veggies, 2 cubes fruit, & add 1 cube each into the fruit & veggie mixes w/chicken blended in.
i do hope i have it correct, this is their 2nd nite on this new form of a diet. they ate very little of the ensure, or yogurt, but they did eat almost all of the chicken w/the fruit. i didn't give them mixed veggies last nite, as i was still needing to get some, but they do have the whole diet in their cage tonite. i do hope they will start eating everything in those 4 bowls soon.
if they continue to not eat this one, say after 3 months or so, i will try one of these newer diets for them.

Please start your own topic on Mary's diet if you would like to discuss that and leave this topic for the current diet being discussed.

I do have a question though, as I do not understand the concept. What purpose would you have the vet run fecals for monitoring a new diet? What would they find in fecals that a new diet would cause? And if fecals are the right test to run, wouldn't you have to have a current fecal while on their current diet for comparing the results?

I can for sure get fecals done before the HPW Plus batch is done and offered. I must have missed reading about blood being taken during vet checks...if that will give a better, overall answer to how they are doing on/before the HPW Plus...I obviously wouldnt be opposed to it, altho the thought of my sweeties being uncomfortable with the blood drawing process makes me cringe a little... frown

Excessive amounts of bee pollen shows up (or CAN show up) in their poop, so I like for my vet to check that specifically from time to time to see if my gliders bodies are utilizing the bee pollen or if its just "running thru" them. So far, he's never seen anything he would call an "excessive" amount so I'm happy there.

Night 4 with the sample batch of the HPW Complete and the bowl has been licked clean every night. Even if I put the veggie mix they aren't as crazy about, all is gone with only a few stray pieces. They even opted to pig out on the HPW first instead of my berry blend that they really enjoy!
WooHoo! A mix they like smile.
The next batch I make will be the HPW Plus. Since I did a small batch, only 1/3 of the recipe, I'll be able to try the other stuff soon.
Thanks to Peggy for a great product....

I just want to clear up any confusion there may be about this.

First off I want to say that I respect Peggy and all that she has accomplished so far for the gliders. I have some information I am going to post but do not want anyone trying to open up a can of Whip [censored] on me. I am under the impression that some may think BHA or BHT are in the High Protein Wombaroo Supplement and/or questioning it at some point because they did not see this on the box.

I contacted the company and asked them if these chemicals are in their product. The answer is NO. Here is an email I sent to them asking questions

"Hi, I would like to find out a little more information about the High Protein Wombaroo Supplement and the possum wombaroo milk replacer.

I would like to know what the preservatives are in both of these?

Do you use BHA or BHT in your products?

Also could you let me know what the vitamin A and Selenium levels are in both of these products?

We are considering using these products but would like to know more about them. Thank you for your help and time with this.

April "

Here is the reply I got back from the Wombaroo Company:

Hi April,

"Thanks for your enquiry regarding Wombaroo High Protein Supplement and Wombaroo Possum Milk Replacers.

Please find attached data sheets about these products which include typical analysis for Vitamin A (retinol) and Selenium.

BHT and BHA are not used in these products.

These products are manufactured from dry ingredients (heat treated / spray dried), which limits the water availability to micro-organisms, and reduces the need for preservatives. Fats and oils are stabilized with vitamin E, a naturally-occurring antioxidant.

Kind Regards,

Gordon Rich."

I have spoke with Peggy about all my information and feelings on the use of any chemical preservatives that are not organic. Peggy has assured me she is checking into things. My hope is in the near future Peggy comes out with an all organic type diet with out the use of these type chemicals. I know that if there is any way to make her formula better she will work on it. I am a fan of Peggy and have nothing against her. That said I have also went ahead an ordered my sample of the HPW Plus and HPW Complete. I usually never use products I know have BHA or BHT among other chemicals as well but in this case, I believe in what Peggy is trying to accomplish and do not mind trying it out once while waiting for her new and improved organic diet some day. wink smile

Now all that said, hurry up Peggy all us CRAZY ORGANIC FOLK need an organic diet asap. Pretty Please roflmao smile
