My Dexter was like that the first 2 weeks. He would get ahold of my fingers and wouldn't let up I actually cried he bit me so hard once. But the more I have played with him he has stopped biting so hard...he does still like to get to my fingers and nip but its definitely not as hard as it was still hurts sometimes lol definitely doesn't feel good thats for sure. Good luck hun I hope someone with more knowledge than me will come along and help...maybe even help me too. I am not sure what to do to make them stop biting but it would be nice if there was a way !!

It can be like you said from a soap smell or even lotion. It is also possible that he is in a tasting and testing phase, just like kids. It can be little nips leaning towards grooming, which is good as he likes you a bit too much! Or it can simply be to get your attention to make you play with. Keep an eye on his body language, you will soon see what behavior he displays right before he will nip. You can distract him by using a feather and start a new game, or you can say "Tsssst" each time he does the nip, it sometimes works.

CHT CHT say it quickly and like you mean it Okay I will try that. Today he jumped on my head and I'm not sure if he did a quick grooming of my head or if he bit me. He did do that little sneeze sound when they groom so I thought maybe...

I totally agree with bourbon, that sound is magic, it transformed my baby in a matter of days. He went from biting so bad he literally left scars on my hand to now not even drawing blood most of th time he is just grooming me now, every now and then he will bite down a little too hard but still not nearly as bad as before!!

Lucky you then lol, my boy was a very evil biter before I worked with bourbon, one night my whole hand and arm was literally swollen from how bad it was (that was the night he left scars on my hand from how deep he bit me) thank goodness we arents dealing with that anymore, just little nips and he is learning to do it less and less
