Any suggestions on removing urine smell from toys? I have always used simple green for toys and my cage and had great success with it. But, this past weekend when I cleaned the cage and toys I could not get the urine smell out of the plastic items ( toys & Wheele) that are in the cage. I have always soaked them for about and hour in hot water and simple green but over time the smell just will not go away. I don't want to have to replace the items. The cage seems to loose the urine smell after cleaning with the simple green. Any suggestions?

Have you tried soaking them in a bleach/water(1/10) solution? If you try this do it for a few hours them rinse everything off really well. The problem is that plastic gets little scratches on it and that is where all the smell comes from. The bleach sould kill of any bacteria and odors.

Lemon juice sounds like it'd smell a lot better than bleach.

You could also try PureAyre mixed with water they have instructions on the bottle for laundry and whatnot. That will also remove any smells like that.
