There are no stupid questions here at GC Here is a link to PML and if you lose it you can always find it in the diet links here. PML

It is a version of BLM that Pockets came up with. Thus "PML". There is a link to the diet on the diets page. I've actually been considering switching mine over to it because they don't seem to be to thrilled with BML, but I haven't desided yet what I will try.

I'm glad someone else is having problems with BML. I've had my glider for a week and she's not interested in it. I've tried some other foods with success, so I haven't been stressing it too much. Maybe I'll try the PML.

PML is a modification to the original Leadbeaters diet which was developed in Australia. Pockets (Debbie) is the 'P'. She has kept it as close as possible to the Leadbeaters diet as you can get in the US. In the US you can no longer get the high protein baby cereal. As with all diet changes, you should consult your vet first.

Actually, although the mixture is the same consistancy as the BML, it is very much different than BML. The main ingredient for PML comes straight from Australia and is used with scrambled eggs honey and water. I also include bee pollen in mine which my vet recommended. It is a wonderful diet plan, my furballs have thrived on it and I have not had any problems with them not eating it at all.

Just a tip, for those people whose gliders seem to be resisting the BML (only two of my 22 have "resisted" - my latest rescues), you can encourage them to eat by using the BML as a licky treat in the morning and then again in the evening before dinner is served. This also helps with the bonding process, too. Now, Beaky and Peepers are eating well and making their food "all gone" like good little girls. They just needed to be shown how to eat properly. Of course, only the glider owner knows for sure what works for his/her gliders. Best of luck with whatever diet you choose.

PML is wonderful... the only diet my gliders will eat consistently night after night.. all 6 of them. They love it.

I`ve been thinking of trying the PML diet too. I`m just wondering what the rest of the diet is, it doesn`t say I`m assuming that you still feed fruit and veggies just like the BML? I`m thinking it probably is but I don`t like to assume when it can harm my babies. Can PML be frozen in ice cube trays like the BML? And what about bugs and other protein food? I wish the whole diet was clearly explained, I know that`s why some people won`t try it including myself. It`s sad to think but many people coould be feeding this diet improperly and don`t know where to find these answers.

Huhm, good points. The page does say the PML is 50% of the diet. Not sure what the other 50% is, exactly. If you go to the PML page, at the bottom, there's a link where you can e-mail Pockets/Debbie. Or you can PM her. Hopefully she'll come on here and respond.

The PML diet is complicated and this is why Pockets hasn't published all the details of what she feeds. It is not as cut and dry as BML is. The plan is to feed PML like they do the Leadbeaters diet in Australia. Not very much veggies and fruit. Several types of nectar which provide necessary carbohydrates like Nekton, Kern’s nectar, Jumex nectar and acacia gums are fed and also safe flowers. Proteins like chicken, turkey, monkey biscuits and Insectivore-Fare are also fed, but I don't know if exact quantities have been laid out. Yogurts are also fed and many more items. But like I said, I do not have a detailed feeding plan to share with you. Hopefully someone has more information than I on this.
