I have had my glider for about a month now and within the last couple weeks have been taking her into our bathroom for play time (because we have no room for a tent). I have toys for her to play and climb on, and an extra wheel in there for her to run on as well. However, it doesn't seem that she is interested at all. She will come out of her pouch, run around like she's trying to find a way out, or will just find somewhere to try and hide, after 5 or 10 minutes. I know she should be let out of her "room" (cage) daily, but I feel like she doesn't want to play. Any thoughts on what I can do. I did hear her making a sound similar to a mouse "talking" is that good or bad? Thanks for any input!

Do you leave the light on in the bathroom? Cause if your bathroom is anything like mine, it's just WAY too bright for gliders. That may be why she's not playing. You could always install a dimmer or use a nightlight instead of leaving the light on.
Also, have you considered getting her a cage mate? She may be lonely as well...
I do use a night light when she's out for playtime because I know the regular light is too bright. As far the "mouse type sound" she was exploring the bathroom and running on and off of me. She just started doing it the other day, but a lot more today. idk what it means.

If she is looking for cuddle time at this stage rather than running and playing, it's fine, let her have cuddles instead. I think getting her a companion will help lots. Have a look at RescueCentral
I would suggest a small tent. I know you said you dont have room, but get a small one and set it up on your bed or in your bedroom, and take it down when done with it. It is possible she feels overwhelmed in a larger space. The smaller tent will feel safer for her.
UPDATE: I went and bought a tent. The smallest I could find. I set it up, brought in some snacks, laid a blanky down, and brought her in. She did the same thing as she did in the bathroom, except this time she found a little corner to ball up in Maybe i'm moving too fast idk.

how long have you had her? Someone mentioned above about getting her a buddy- they really do better in pairs. Also, I had to change the time that I did tent time with mine cause they just didn't want to play when I was trying to.

I've had her about a month. I am looking into a companion for her. I returned the tent I bought because it was too big, and not as easy as I thought it would be to put up. I believe she would like playtime either later at night or in the morning. Today she was very playful at 10:30 AM. She didn't run around the bathroom much or play on the toys in there, but she crawled all over me and into my shirt! Is this a good thing? Since she wouldn't come out, I pulled my polo over my head but not off. She sniffed me and ran from shoulder to shoulder. When she was sniffing me, she was making that "mouse like" noise again. I still don't know what that is.

Seems you have found her play schedule so stick with that time for out of cage time with her. It was certainly a good thing that she prefered to stay with you rather than play. Esp. if she trusted you enough to dive into your shirt. Don't worry she'll play in her own time once she feels totally safe in the bathroom with you. The noise appears to be a happy type noise as she doen't appear to be afraid when she's making it. But the only one who can say that for sure is you, believe it or not, because you are the only one there to see what her body lauange is saying. If she's tense when making the noise think fear if not then think happy. Get it?

for the help!!! I'm still trying to learn how to read her. I assume from what you told me that she is happy since she's been running around on me, and exploring the bthrm when she makes it. However, she still won't let me hold her in my hand. If by some chance I do get to, she shivers. Will this come with time and will she stop shaking? Is there anything I can do?

Normally they shiver for a bit right after they wake up, this is normal.

I just wanted to share, even though she crabbed a little while I was removing her pouch from her "room", today my lil fur baby (she's an 8 month old rescue) chirped while she ate a piece of boiled chicken that I gave her as a treat! She lay on her back in her pouch and allowed me to pet her tummy while she happily ate! She melted my heart!!! I believe it his her favorite treat!!

Your first option is as an attachment: click on "Switch to Full Reply Screen" , below the post box, click "File Manager", click browser to search your computer for the picture you want to upload. Select the photo, click "add file" ,click "done adding files" and upload your photo.
It only accepts small size pictures, you will more than likely need to re-size the pictures. For resizing you can use www.cranno.com
Another option is to upload your photos to an online image sharing site like www.photobucket.com, then post the link to your pictures.
Thank you! I'll give it a try! I'm so excited to share these pics!

I hope this works! The one of her in my nook, I took of her about 20 minutes ago, when it was supposed to be playtime! lol I'm sitting indian style, and she just crawled in and let me just pet her for the longest! I can't lie, I liked this more than watching her run around the bathroom

Hi everybody! As some of you know, my Lil Mahal doesn't really explore or run around during play time (since I have no tent, we use our small bathroom). Yesterday, I posted a couple pics from play which turned into cuddle time! (SN: I it!) Well, we just ended another session, and today i believe there was some "chirping", I've never heard it before, but I'm assuming that was what the sound was. And I wanted to share some pics of her actually laying ON my lap! I just sat & pet her for a long while! I tried to take one from when she was laid back and I was petting her tummy but she moved every time I tried. But there is a partial one! Is it okay that she'd rather lay around than play? She did run around for about ten minutes. Anyhow, I think we are making some progress, and I wanted to share some happy moments with you all!!! to everyone who has helped in answering my many questions and concerns! You are all WONDERFUL!!!

I have one that wants to lay around on me and one that is off the charts active. The other is too new for me to know yet, but I think she is really active too. Both are a little more shy when they are alone. Does she have a friend? BTW, she is adorable.

Thank you! She's usually active either really late at night (obviously, lol), around 10 AM, or like the last couple days between 1 and 3 PM. When I put her pouch on she starts squirming around NON STOP til I let he pouch on the floor, then it's peek a boo for about 5 minutes, and FINALLY she'll come out! lol... She doesn't have a friend at the moment
