Hello all..I have a question I've been meaning to ask about giving gliders Cheese...I know that Cheese would not be a good snack as a regular thing...but my Ziggy seems to have a LOVE for String Cheese...It started when I was eating it one day while he was in my shirt...it was the middle of the day and I was at home, and he literally RAN out of my shirt and up my arm to see what I had...which he will normally ONLY do if I have Turkey...of course The Turkey is ALWAYS for him...so he kind of knows he is going to get something good...Anyway, he ran down to my hand and first tried to take a mouthfull..then he tried to pull it away from me...I have to admit I let him have a small piece...he peeped and clicked like he had gotten the worlds BEST Mealie...I was wondering if anyone else here ever gave their suggies cheese once and a while as a snack...he just loved it soooo much that I'd like to be able to give it to him every now and again...but if it's really really bad for him, I'll buck up and be the bad guy...NO CHEESE FOR YOU!!!
Thanks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> in advace <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Cheese is ok in very small pieces as treats. It is a good source of protein and calcium. If you give much there is a danger of constipation. About once a month we brown ground turkey breast with a little water. Add eggs and sharp chedder cheese and blend together. Let cool and the gliders go wild over it.

That sounds like a glider delicacy. I think there needs to be a recipe section or thread for treats and foods...

I just keep hearing about great ideas about different ways to prepare healty meals and snacks. It'd be great to add even more variety. Unfortunately, I don't have any recipes, so hopefully someone will come along soon and start a glider cookbook.

I think its a nice treat- our babies love cheese and shrimp- both occasional treats.. though hrm- with the weight issues we're fighting right now (unde3rweight baby) maybe some extra cheese will help...

My babies not only love cheese, but they also love it when that once a month time comes around when they get mac n cheese!!
Just remember, everything in moderation. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />

If you want to know what a person is like, watch how he treats others.

You'll never know what the outcome is if you don't step up and try.

I was eating string cheese once, and pulling little strings and dangling it (for myself), and it caught the eyes of all three of my bra babies. Of course, that wriggly string was too much for them to resist.

Cheese can not only constipate, but is pretty salty, so none of us have enjoyed string cheese in several months.

Haha! Maybe MoMo will be my successful diet I've been looking for! I'll worry so much about feeding her. Plus, her diet is so much healthier than the usual groceries I buy. I do see a lot more veggies, fruit, yogurt in my future! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yelclap.gif" alt="" />

Thank You all SO Much...My Gut told me that it would be OK once in a blue moon...but I just wanted to ask to be sure <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Ziggy will be a happy camper, but I know better now than to eat cheese when he's on me!
