I am currently looking at possibly obtaining my first gliders. I am still wondering thou if they are illegal to own. I have looked at so many laws in Nebraska and nothing specifically says you can't own them if anyone knows for sure please let me know. Also if you could link the info that would be great. I am more curious about Omaha. Although in the state law it says city,county, state, federal; each level overrides the lower lvl of government. So that means that if they are legal to own in Nebraska which I know they are, then the city of omaha has no leg to stand on.

I do know they are illegal in Omaha. I rescued some gliders that were confisgated in a puppy mill raid. They were at the Omaha humane society. They were NOT allowed to adopt them out to anyone that lived within city limits.

Teresa is right. They are illegal within the city limits of Omaha. To be sure about your area in particular, you need to call your local humane society for the laws in your area.

The whole city county state federal thing really only applies to illegal being higher up than legal. i.e. in some states it is now legal to smoke marijuana [we are a PG board now, right?!] but at the federal level it is still illegal. It's weird how it works that way.
