That is just so not rite, I thought they got rid of the wire, or @ least they were using it for other purposes than cages for more animals. Those $$ signs in their eyes must be pretty brite. Human greed is rampant & everywhere. So Sad

Hopefully this article draws the needed attention and makes the public more aware of the hazard. Another thing people can do is leave a review on Sugar Glider Help for Klubertanz. (Please only leave a review based on your personal experience and not hearsay.)

tessa just lost her 3rd glider last night.
very distressing situation with this company, knowing that the wire is bad for sugar gliders but does not state this fact, even when glider people ask if it is safe for gliders.
diane did mention that the wire should be tested for a certain type of chemical but am going to come back after i write down what it is.

diane robertson stated that toxicology testing on these bad wire cages should be tested and looked for organo-tin pesticide as the curing agent. regular toxicology tests will not pick this up. anybody that is being affected with this cage problem now should have this test done, maybe it will prove that this wire is the reason our gliders have died in the past and still dying. our vets know it is from bad wire, my own vet has seen this with birds and used the right combination of meds/flushing to save my 3 gliders that were young at the time. regards, nancy in roseville

I was going to buy wire for cage at Klubertanz. This was in January. When I asked the guy where they buy their wire cages and asked if its safe for sugar gliders. As soon as he found out it was for SG, he then told me not to buy their wire and look for something else. He even said some SG owners are buying powder coated wires now. Im so glad I listened to him.

What is the best material? I have been looking for a bigger cage and just about every cage I find is powder coated.

i would imagine you would ask your vet. where you can get the cage tested at. tessa is going thru her vet to have these tests done but i dont know if they are sending it out. pvc cages and wire from klubertanz are the problems. powder cages have had no issues that i have ever read and this is all i use. i get my cages at suncoast, they have their cages go thru extra testing and are all powder coated. suncoast cages dont rust and the finish stays on. my oldest is close to 6 yrs. now and looks brand new. regards, nancy in roseville
