Hi my joey will be 7 weeks oop Tuesday so according to what I have read she should be eating on her own round about now. At the mo I am supplimenting her still 3 times a day. I have gradually changed from 1/2 womberoo milk replacer 1/2 joey BML to more BML with a little womberoo to womberoo with blended chicken or blended veg but in the last 10 days she has only gained 5 grams. I have seen her in the glider kitchen having a taste so why is she gaining very little. Her weight seems to yoyo, she lost 2 grams 1 night and the next gained 4 then lost etc etc. Is it because she has become accustomed to me feeding her? she comes straight to the top of the pouch when she sees her dish. I know 48 grams is ok for nearly 7 weeks but I am a little worried. Do I stop and hope she helps herself? If I put her food in the kitchen mum and dad obviously also eat it so I dont know if she is eating it too. Should I mix womberoo with mum and dads to entice her? Any advice would be appreciated.

Just keep watching her weight & fur appearance (consistant gain & fluffy fur). 48g is not bad, but she could be bigger (more between 50-60g). Perhaps some snacks alone with you during the day - like mealies, or avacado ~ yummy! If you feed her one-on-one, you knw what portion she gets.

[:"green"]At this stage, since she is still with mum & dad, I would put enough of the mixtures in the kitchen so that there is enough for her & her parents to have a portion. She will eat her portion in spite of the parents eating theirs, too... You may still have leftovers in the mornings, but at least you will know that she has the opportunity to eat her fill's worth. Also, you may try putting her food into a separate kitchen from the regular parents' food. Then, when you put the food in the cage in the evening, take her out of the pouch & into "her" kitchen so she has first dibs on it. HTH

Ive been putting out extra food for over a week now and did buy another kitchen to put hers in although I didnt actually put her in when she woke up so will try that later. I did put her some food in her jungle play house when she was in there last night but she didnt touch it...in the end mum and dad ate it.Last night and tonight she wont touch anything else apart from womberoo with joey bml. I have tried various baby foods, veg relish, blended chicken and egg etc but nope she now doesnt want that although I will keep trying her with them. If I take her out the pouch to feed her she wont eat, she will only eat if she is still in the pouch and I lay the pouch on its side and she crawls up. Im pretty sure the only way she is going to eat is if I give her half wom half bml and feed her when she is in the pouch...little madam shes not daft!!

I weighed Keira last night and was really pleased she was 52 grams which meant she had put on 4 grams...tonight however she has lost the 4 and is back to 48!! I am still supplimenting her....and she still wont eat anything other than the womberoo and bml.

Suggestion... Only offer one handfeeding a day for one more week. The idea is to help her become independent just like her mother would have taught her.
She should be eating the reg BML just like the parents.
As to fruit and veggies... at this age (seven weeks oop.) they eat very little of them. SO... just offer one teaspoon of fruit and one teaspoon of veggies and offer in a side dish. Do not blend them up. This way... she can pick out what she likes and leave the dislikes. Increase in small amounts as she developes a taste for them.
More than likely... she will eat the One Tablespoon of BML first. Also...provide a small dish in the cage 24/7 with a dry feed such as Mazuir or ZooKeepers as young babies love to munch on it for variety as well.
