My little baby, Salem, is tiny! I got her about 2 1/2 weeks ago from M and M pet store in Pendergrass, GA. I was told she was 7 weeks OOP. Later I learned that that was too young! By the time I was told that I was also told that it was too late to bring her back to her momma.
She eats pretty well (aside from her ongoing pickyness). She is just itty bitty. If she really was 7 weeks when I got her than she should be around 9 1/2 weeks OOP now. I weighed her today and she only weighs 34 grams! She doesn't look abnormally skinny for her size and it doesn't look like she's malnourished or underweight. She's very active (much more active then her sister) and is very loving.
She has been to the vet once since I have had her and they gave her a fluid shot because she was a tad dehydrated, other than that the vet said she looked healthy. Later I called the vet back and asked her if she thinks my glider was younger than I was told because from a couple weight charts I have seen she is in the range of a 5-6 week glider. My vet said she couldn't really give me an answer because she might just be small. Her sister is about 10 weeks OOP and weighs twice her weight (exactly)!
I will post a couple pictures of Salem so you can see her size. Is there anything I can feed her to help her grow and get to a normal size/weight for her age? I know avocado is a good fattener but she won't eat it. She loves watermelon, mango, cantaloupe, and honey dew melon. She doesn't seem to like really any veggies.
I just want to do my best to keep my little fuzz butt healthy and happy!
Thanks! smile

Although her weight is indeed low, she does look good in the photos you posted.

What diet are you currently feeding your babies?

If you are offering a balanced diet, just make sure she is eating her share, get a scale and watch her weight. Make sure it is going up. She will catch up in no time I am sure.

If you want to know what a person is like, watch how he treats others.

You'll never know what the outcome is if you don't step up and try.

I am just making sure she gets a protein, fruits and veggies at the moment. I have some HPW complete coming in the mail any day now. She was eating this diet that I found online where it's a mixture of 8 ounces fruits, 8 ounces veggies, 6 ounces protein (I did scrambled eggs), 4 ounces OJ and 4 ounces plain yogurt. She liked it for a little bit and now doesn't seem to be a fan. I've heard good things about the HPW complete so I'm hoping she will take to it!:)
