I took out my gliders and saw what appears to have been one has eaten the tips of the ears off the other. I would have assumed self mutilation except he can't eat his own ears.

Why would one eat the others ear tips off?

I can't get to the vet today so what can I do?

It might be over grooming.

Is the glider bleeding?

Is the other glider still chewing on this ones ears?

Do you have another cage so that you can separate them until you can get to the vet?

Is it a male/female pairing?

It is a female and male. He is the one missing his ears.

It isnt bloody but it is raw and meaty looking so it had to have happened in the last 24 hour block of time.

I asked because I had a female start doing this not only to her joeys in pouch but also to the male when she was done breeding. Is your male neutered? If not, I highly recommend doing so. thumb
