Does anyone know or has there been a study if gliders like (human)music? I'm listening to a station on Pandora and thought to drop one of my earbuds(the right side is quieter that the left) in the pouch with Zoe. She doesn't seem to mind it so I wondered if gliders liked human music on not. Any guesses?

I honestly don't know if the 'like' it or not, but I have a radio that plays 24/7 in my glider room.

Could you turn it off for a minute or 2 when they're up and see if they react? I think I told you Zoe's reaction to turning off the butterfly.... tant Big time!

I heard that people have radios in their gliders rooms so I decided to put on in mine. My gliders didn't like it at all and one started overgrooming.

But, that's likely because it's something that they'd never been exposed to before (they were three when I tried it). If your glider is young, I'd suggest exposing her to all sorts of noises so that she's not bothered by them.

For me, everything stays pretty quiet around my gliders becuase that, unfortunately, is what I got them used to.

Ohhh... I gave her the quieter earbud and she didn't seem to mind, not crabbing just curled up in her pouch sleeping. I got her from a friend who recently had her grandkids move in... noisy. I think she was overgrooming herself from the stress, it was a quiet house with just her and her husband, kids moved in and there was suddenly a 2YO, 3 or 4YO, and 5 or 6YO. Little, little kids... She had bald spots on her head, on either side of the stripe, I thought she was a boy. Most of the hair has grown back on the month I've had her. I don't think she minded the music though. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Mine haven't shown any reaction to not having the radio on. It doesn't seem to bother them one way or the other. But I personally wouldn't like pure quiet so I think they think the way I do. :roflmao2: Also, since I breed, I want the joeys exposed to routine noises so they hopefully aren't affected when they go to a new home.

Zoey is used to TV noises, kids? not so much. The house is mostly quiet during the day because we work from 8 or so til around 3 she probably sleeps pretty well.

Mine are kept in the tv room. We have a typically quiet house, but they're used to the sporadic sounds of the tv. We also have a 7 week old baby, but they don't seem bothered by the crying/screaming. Of all things, the only sounds that I can tell actually bothers them is my dog's nails clicking on the floors as he walks around lol

Thanks,
Lisette
