So I got my Bella a little over a week ago. She took to us very quickly. She's a little over a year old. She's been crawling all over us and loving on us every night. The cage she came with is what she had been kept in but it was small and made of metal that was uncoated. So of course I ordered her a new safe cage right away. I ordered the Madagascar cage. She now has a ton more room to jump and fly around. She loves the new sleeping pouch I got her but I did keep her old one in there as well for something familiar if she wanted it. She chooses to sleep in her new one though.

Now for my question. Since we got her new cage she seems scared. She walks very carefully around her cage and doesn't want to come out of it to play with us. She's still eating just fine but doesn't want to come out. I'm worried about this change in behavior. We put the cage together night before last and got her moved over. So she's been in it 2 nights. Last night she was hardly awake at all. I was up from 3:30-4:15 and she was sleeping in her pouch that whole time. Thoughts?

It's a new environment, and a much larger one than she's accustomed to. Give her some time to adjust. wink

I agree with Shelly. When I changed cage size on one of my pairs they freaked. They had never been in a small cage but it was a lot larger then they were used too. They settled In after a few days or treats and exploring.

Mine wouldn't come out... until the lights were off. I have a flashlight app on my phone which, for some reason, they don't register like they would a lamp or overhead lighting, so I can watch them when they are most active :D

Thanks guys. I gave her some treats tonight and she came out a little more. She seems afraid whenever my cat is around now too. Maybe because she can see her more now. I'll keep an eye on her and keep spoiling her. Thanks for the feedback.
