Has anyone put 2 of the congo cages from exotic nutrition together to make one super cage?? So I had decided on getting the congo cage from exotic nutrition but! then while googling sugar glider rooms I saw alot of people that have 2 cages put together to make 1 huge cage one was a comment that was made on sugargliders.com i found the cage on the site the person that had before decorating and after decorating when she combined the two commented also mentioned she got it from wayfair.com it would be 405.98 no sales tax and 2 day free shipping cage with stand 60 in" tall with stand 37 in" W 23 in" D buuut I feel like the congo is a lot sturdier and seems bigger 67" in. tall with stand, 32 in" W 21 in. D the doors also have the heavy duty locks but I don't mind the doors the other one has because I currently have those on my 2 cages the congo with shipping for me would be 523.30 link for wayfair cage: http://www.wayfair.com/Prevue-Hendryx-Extra-Large-Flight-Bird-Cage-F050-PVP1176.htmllink for exotic nutrition cage: http://www.exoticnutrition.com/costsuglca.html

The Preview/Hendrix cage is flimsy in my opinion.
I have several of the HQ cages, I do stack them for space, one colony in each cage.
You can combine them for a very large cage, but I have found that when my cages are stacked they don't fit through the door way and I need to take them apart to get them outside to clean.

The problem with putting two cages together side by side is that you loose the supports for the cage pan and bottom grate which are attached to the side panels of the cage.
You would need to find a way to secure the bottom grate and cage pan so there are no gaps for gliders to escape their cage. You can zip tie the bottom grate to the front and back of the cage, but you then loose the ability to remove it for easy cleaning.
Keep in mind that you may need to break the two cages apart in order to take it outside for a good cleaning now and then because moving a cage that wide out the door may be very difficult - or may take at least two people to manage.

I don't know how you could possibly connect them side to side with the stands, however you might could connect them back to back, on stands, but not positive.
I believe if there is a will, a strong will, there is a way, lol.
Using reusable zip ties, you could zip tie the floor grates securely, but also be able to remove the zip ties to remove them or separate the cages. If the cages sit on the floor, or stable, level surface large enough to hold them, the drop pans could just sit on the floor below.
You could possibly figure out another way to do it.
Personally the Congo cage itself is quite large, if you'e able to connect two that would be super awesome large for them, but could be problematic for you. The Congo's are on sale at this time, good price for them imo, I recommend at least getting one while they're going for this price if you're looking for a good sturdy cage that is large. My email shows that with coupon the Congo can be purchased for $193.95, code is SUN10, I believe that is for the coupon.

I just ordered the congo from exotic nutrition and it was 219.95 ( on sale price ) and i found a coupon code SIZZLE ( i found on there fb page ) for 10 percent off i wish I could have found the one for 193! im thinking we will just cut one side of the stand that curves to be able to connect the two either soder or bolt them together as long as there on wheels cleaning shouldn't be to much of a hassle and zip ties will definitely come in handy I totally forgot about the pull out trays! ah! hopefully when it gets here ill have a better idea of what I can do the congo cage is probably the only cage I feel is spacious enough but two of them together! it would be amazing lol

Hi, I don't usually post on here so please forgive any formatting mistakes lol. Someone referred me to this thread to see if I could help. I have 2 brisbane cages attached side by side, for the last few months it has been working great with no issues at all. We took a piece of a different cage with bar spacing 1/2 inch and cut it to fit the gap on the bottom grates. The bottom grate itself is now ziptied all around the rest of the frame of both cages because the 2 side walls that will be left off support the bottom grate, the "cut to fit" piece of the other cage was put over the gap between the two bottom grates of the two cages and bent around the bottom tightly to secure it. The sides of the 2 cages are ziptied to each other using some of the same holes where the screws would normally be and some zip ties in between them to make sure there were no gaps around the now "middle" part of the two cages. The piece of the other cage used to fill the gap is white and "different" than our black brisbane cage and not as heavy which made it easy to bend around to join the two grates, but it is a different color, so I use a fleece strip to cover it up so it doesn't get unwanted attention from the gliders. They have not bothered with it one time. The biggest issue I have is it is so large I can't take it outside to clean, so I use a portable steam cleaner. Another issue I found a work around too was large toys or wheels are harder to get in or out of the cage since the bottom grates no longer simply pull out. So instead I unscrew one of the tops of the cage and make my adjustments and screw the top back on. We don't use the stands, our cage is sitting on a solid platform so on that account I don't know what modifications you would need to make to the stands to make it work. I do have pics but I don't know how to post them here, I'd be happy to email them to you if you'd like just send me an email to catawba2214@gmail.com and let me know you'd like pics of my cage set up :D I hope this helps some. The whole thing to put the two cages together took us maybe 2 hours in a very limited space. It's really not that hard, oh and both waste trays under the bottom grates still easily pull out for daily cleaning. One last thing having 4 doors is really awesome but I have to triple check them every night to make sure they are latched, the only time one of the gliders escaped from this cage is when a door wasn't latched properly.
