Unfortunately Peg died 5 days post op. The surgery was successful and she was pooping 2 days after surgery normal stool. Dr Cromer was happy with her healing, but Peg's depression since the glider sitter killed Artie, her mate, has been severe. I had been staying up at night holding her and spending time with her through out the day.......but it wasn't enough. She died because she gave up. The surgery on top of the death of her mate of 10 years was just too much.

On a positive note, bowel resections can be done on SGs and be successful.

I am very sorry for your loss. May you find peace and comfort in your memories of her.
