Hi, Everyone,
I want to have Stuart a little ball pit, I have been told some of the cheaper pom pom balls from like dollar tree are useless, if so what are the best kind and where do I get them? Also looking for some other fun things. It seems everyones gliders like the little colored treasure chest, where on earth do I find these things? So far I just have fleece, and bottle caps and rings. I do have an easter egg or two and a medicine bottle with treats. He's not into the egg much. Likes everything else so far. Can I get some advice?

Thanks sugiemom to Stuart :grey:

Barrels of monkeys, to hang top to bottom, or so, onto the cage.
They will play w/straws. There is something you can buy to turn them into twirly ones, I just can't remember what it is called.

My ball pits are of ping pong balls, or the ones w/holes in them.
Use a ball w/a bell in it, they will push it around.

Tiny little bears will be carried around, & many times end up in their little hut that they use to lie around in when they don't want to be in their pouch, this way they get to see what's around them.

If your interested in making your own toys or just getting little toys to play with, I suggest this website:

http://www.thesugargliderstore.com/

I bought a lot of stuff from there (click on the "toy parts" section), and it is very reasonably priced. They have the treasure chests, bracelets, keys, pacifiers, plastic chains and much more. I have been trying to make things here and there for the cage. Mika really likes the bracelets and she tears through the treasure chests. I tend to just hang stuff up all over the place and see where it ends up in the morning.

Also, if you are on facebook, there is a group called "Gliderlist" and "Sugar Glider vendor Ads". Both have a lot of people selling toys, fleece and just about anything so you could always check there. smile

I think the only problem with the dollar store pompoms is that they fall apart easily. Any craft store will carry them as well.

Etsy.com has someone selling toy making kits. They come with glider safe materials that you can put together however you want.

Pinterest is a great place to look for toy ideas.

I have rotating "ball" pits. I switch between pompoms, fleece scraps, plastic dinosaurs, plastic cat balls (the kind with bells inside), rubber ducks, short straws, milk rings, wiffle balls, plastic jacks, and plastic frogs.

Holly and Artemis got a barrel of monkeys for Christmas. They love it.

If you can't find the little treasure chests (try party supply stores), a plastic toothbrush cover can serve the same purpose. Or an empty icebreakers container.

I have a fleece braid without a knot at the bottom so it can be unbraided. Sometimes I stick monkeys or milk rings into the braid.

I think I have more fun finding toys for them than they do playing with them. smile

Just please make sure there isn't any catnip in the toys. This stuff makes our babies really sick.

I don't even like giving it to my cats,I don't like drugging them up.

Catnip to cats is like marijuana is to humans,in my opinion.

People don't care about the effect on them, otherwise you wouldn't be able to buy the drug in pet stores.

Thanks for adding this warning. I wondered after I posted if I should have said something. I'm glad you did!

I got 200 treasure chests on Amazon for $9.99 plus shipping. I originally bought the 144/pack, but those ones wouldn't stay closed.
