I'd like to compile a list of things to do/instructions that will help my family provide proper care for my gliders if something should happen to me. I would like to include a contact list for them as well, with names and numbers of a few, well experienced members that can help with anything between answering questions they may have to helping them find a new home for them. If there are any volunteers for this, know it will be much appreciated and used only for such an emergency if my gliders are left in the care of someone other than myself. Please contact me pm if you wish, or if not mind public here on this thread. Thank you.

Terry you can always have them to contact us, but I hope you around a long time to come yet. (can PM for contact info) if they need to home them asap type deal or questions in care and I would drive out to help if need.

Very good thing to think about, Terry, especially for those of us who are now seniors wink This is something we should do for any/all pets in our household agree

It is also a good idea to keep some sort of document in your car if you live alone or away from family just in case. You cannot control what the other person will do while you are in your car, even if you are only in the hospital for an extended period of time. That list could mean the difference between life or death for your pets.

If you have a neighbor you trust, make sure that neighbor has your instructions, not only for care but your contacts. Never leave home (vacations, etc) without someone know where you are going and how to contact you.

Thank you all. I'll be working on my information packet over the next couple of days. I will also create a file card with some information, good idea to leave one in my car Karen, thanks.

I do not live alone at the moment, still with family, but I'm hoping to one day have a place of my own, that is a goal I'm working towards.

We should all have an "In Case Of Emergency Contact ..." Card in our vehicle/s just in case we cannot provide that information ourselves. Most phones have a place to do that in your contacts, however, no everyone has that kind of phone. Don't assume someone will go through your phone to try and find your family or someone who can help.

Be as proactive as you possible can.

also a Lot of phones are also are set with locks so it a little more of a hassle to steal a phone and pull info off of it ( unless you know what your doing). I do have a emergency note in my notepad and the screen will scroll to go there if found unresponsive

Thanks Terry, Karen and Mechnut, I never thought about putting something in my car or phone. My family is standing in line for my girls, but since we travel so much (in Fayetteville, AR now) , I need to put a save my pet sign in the window of our RV and on my car, when they are present, along with emergency care, vet # and contact info...

:thumb2: The Save My Pet signs are also extremely important to put in a prominent window in your home in case of fire. You may not have time to retrieve your animals when if that time comes or any natural disaster, for that matter.
