"Day at the Beach" but they'll have it longer than a day, lol.

I do not have all the required accessories, so may be closer to summer before I have it set up.

I've bought some sand toys and some other oceany, beachy items. I would like to collect a few more items and look for some fleece pieces. I do not want to sew my own.

I'll post some pics as I go along, but haven't taken any of the stuff I got yet. I am trying out one sand toy in their cage for a fun change tonight. The amigos are up for their first bite, and looked intrigued. I didn't have my camera or phone handy.

A girl after my own heart. My motto: Any day at the beach is a good day grin (This comes from a land locked beach bum) Cannot wait to see pictures.

This is certainly a good time of year to hit Dollar Tree for beach themed items and Walmart, too. Just take the wheels off those little turtle sand toys that come in the mesh pack if they still sell them. A friend and I got those years ago, and our gliders loved them.

Thanks for the tip!

So, why take the wheels off? I got a little truck/dumpster and left the wheels on, I zip locked it to the cage bars so it won't travel much, but may shift a bit. I left it in there last night so they could have something new to explore. Other than the new boat forage toy, they haven't had too many new things, just a few here and there. I'm getting bored setting the cage up, lol, so imagine they may be bored with their toys also.

Thanks again Karen,

Here is a pic of one toy (the only one I put in the cage from this theme). I wanted to give them something new to explore while I get the items together, this could take a while.

This is zip tied to the wall of cage.

I have a few other items, some I'm going to make toys from. I still am in search of some other toys and fleece items with beach like theme to complete. I may make a cage theme sign also, I have made signs for my "Enchanted Woods", "Rainbow Adventure", and "Pirate's Cove" themes so far (I think that's all of them).

I just put the order in for fleece wear for the theme. While I wait for it to be made and shipped, I can finish picking up toy supplies and make some toys. Maybe supplies for the theme sign as well, but not sure about that yet.

Oh man, I'm too late... Your beach theme has been in the back of my mind for days... I have been looking for beach theme fleece ( kinda hard to find since beach and fleece are opposites. Lol!)

But I put together a design wall with wave and ocean prints from one of my new favorite places to shop. I know you have already ordered a set, but thought I'd share what I found anyway:

https://www.fabric.com/DesignWall.aspx?p...4e-4940d26858c6

I've recently ordered from here, and love the quality of their fleece.

I can't wait to see your new cage theme!

Thank you Karen and Dawn.

I'm actually still waiting for my invoice to get the set rolling, but it's a matter of a day.

Dawn, that is a cute design for beach theme too. I chose a yellow and blue strip fabric I found on a vendors page and it reminded me of a beach towel or beach blanket so I thought it would work well.

I do not mind if you do a beach theme cage, just because I posted I was doing one, it doesn't make it original. I've been wanting to find a way to use sand toys in my glider's cage, but I just started picking up some of the pieces this spring.

I'm looking for just the right the right sand castle mold and one or two of those sand pans to use to begin making a couple more toys.

The cage set arrived!!

It's in the laundry now, hopefully get it set up next weekend, if I can wait, lol. The pattern is really cute, reminds me of a beach towel or beach blanket.

I gave up on making a sandcastle mold hide & climb toy, I purchased one, but ended up seeing something that reminded me of a sandcastle mold that already had a door, lol. I decided to go with that instead for simplicity sake.

I haven't been able to find the sand sifter toy I was looking for, so haven't made the mobile toy/pit yet. I'm not sure if I'll try to figure something else out or keep searching.

Anyway, getting pretty excited about the whole theme. Still haven't made up my mind to make a theme sign, perhaps some day, I'll be working extra hours this week and then again in two weeks from now, I believe.

Well, I haven't gotten all my supplies for a sign yet either, so I can look for those. Thanks for the idea! I usually use those cheap acrylic frames and foam stickers, I may need more letters.

So, I kind of cheated and set up what I have already, lol.

Here are pics of the "Day At The Beach" with Ollie, Lulu, & Skadoosh. Unfortunately, not all of them appear in these photos, lol, you might catch one of them though.

Since I wasn't able to make any of the toys I wanted to yet, I just ended up hanging the hide out that looks like a sand castle upside down from the top shelf. It could be a ball pit or play bin, but for now just a place to duck into. I wanted to make a mobile play pit, with the shovels and fish hanging from it, but had no luck finding the sand sifting toy I wanted to use as base. Perhaps another time I'll get to it, and make that sign as well.

Thank you Karen. My plan was a bit more elaborate, but I got a little frustrated and impatient with not finding what I was looking for, so I just went with what I have, at least for now.

Thank you, I try to keep up with seasonal themes.

I do not have a lot for Christmas, but am working on collecting more themed items. Most of the holiday seasonal items are in my storage unit, because of limited space. I try to keep stuff I use more often, year round where I live. So most of the things for Christmas is in storage, Halloween themed items as well as some of the Easter themed items in storage.

But I have a few "themes" here that work for Spring/Summer more specifically, and then Football season for fall, lol, and then I have Valentine's day stuff here too.
