Ok here goes...

Way back when I purchased my first glider (Fiona), she came with a bonding pouch (for transport). I also bought a sleeping pouch.

Both were made with cotton on the outside and lined in fleece. Since I am a sewer, I duplicated this, with "The good " high quality cotton and fleece. I pinked the raw edges just like they did. I did a bit of research and as long as it's high quality cotton, it seems to be ok with the internet glider community as a whole.

But after a few washings, (10 or so) I noticed fraying on the inside of all the above sleeping pouches. They used paracord for loops. Me too. (But not any more, their nails get caught I use fleece now). In my experience, the pouches don't seem to last as long.

After reading and researching, I still see people who sew using cotton and flannel as a cover for sleeping pouches, and I don't agree with that. Occasionally I have made bonding pouches for me with cotton (It is true that there is a limited amount of varity in fleece), :willy:

When working with fleece on fleece it's easy to hide seams. I am concerned about hiding seams on cotton or flannel...

When it comes to weather extremes, I have observed my gliders, and while sleeping, they are able to drop body temp ( In hot or cold conditions).

Opinions/ input please...

Any other thoughts?

What do you prefer?

thanks in advance for your input...

I have not sewn with cotton yet. But I do not like cotton on the outside of my sleeping pouches, to me they feel dirty earlier.

I like cotton on my bonding pouches, gives you a bigger variety of prints to choose from. Some people also use flannel but to me that also feels dirty quickly.
