Hi guys
I was wondering if anyone had experience with the SGS2 diet? And if so, what are your opinions? smile

I am not sure what that diet is, so you have a different name for it or a link to it?

I am not familiar with that diet at all.

Have you looked at the diets in the Sugar Glider Help Database? Just click on the highlighted word diet and it will take you there.

I myself use Critterlove Plus and sometimes Complete for my staple and the salad (fruit/vegetable) mixtures along with it.

Here is a link to the only retailer in the UK for the Critterlove diets: South West Sugar Gliders

Critterlove products have been tested and continue to be tested. Here is a link to the diet study that was done independent of Peggy's on going diet study: http://www.glidercentral.net/ubbthreads/...014#Post1362149

Check it out.

From reading that link, her recommendation is quite different than what is recommended for gliders on this side of the pond wink

I would click on any where you see the word diet which takes you to our database where you can check out the most popular feeding plans on this side of the pond to decide what might work for you.

One of the Critterlove might be a good choice for you, and I do believe she ships internationally.

Having read the recipe, it seems a bit complicated.

Blending fruits and vegetables isn't wise due to the fact that insoluble fibers can't be extracted by the glider by spitting it out. Gliders do not need insoluble fiber. Their digestive tract cannot tolerate it. They chew or suck at their vegetables and will spit out most of the insoluble part.

The wambaroo high protein diet supplement is good for gliders. There is the recipe I have used:

http://www.gliderdad79.com/hpw.php

It has many of the same ingredients like boiled egg, honey, bee pollen like the SGS2 recipe.

IMO this recipe is one of the easier ones except for Critter Love complete which is just add water to the supplement and making their recommended salad mixes.

The SGS2 has been updated since it was first created and it seems to be quite successful both in the uk and my country. (I'm from europe by the way..) and it's not supposed be completely blended to a paste wink

But any time you blend it, at least to me, it is not good, you are not letting the glider take and get what they need without the stuff they don't need or want. I personally don't prefer diets that are blended in terms of the fruits and veggies.

But, you have to use the diet that works for your gliders and for you, it has to be a good fit for both of you.

Best of luck.

Well, I think I will give the diet a go, to me (in my humble opinion of course) it seems pretty natural, healthy and easy to make wink and I have most of the ingredients at home anyway

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update since it's been almost a month since I started this diet for my four new gliders smile it's going pretty well with the diet and life in general with gliders. It's really easy to make (in my opinion) and the gliders seems to love it. My two youngest have a nicer coat of fur than when I got them and they seem happy and healthy. I haven't had my oldest gliders long enough to tell a big difference yet. They do have a very different type of coat though and I'm not quite sure if it's just because they are fully grown or if it's something else. But I hope that switching them to this diet helps the fur be more like the youngest gliders, which is silky smooth smile
I'm thinking that I might experiment with the diet and try to just blend the protein source, yoghurt, linseeds, vitamins and supplements together and leave the fruits and vegetable unblended.
All in all I quite like this diet smile
