I think this is a good thing but with my other pets it's not good to hand feed them so I just want to make sure this is a good thing.
My gliders seem very comfortable with me. They prefer to not really jump on the tent now, mostly run around my body or cling to my back (I wish they preferred my chest so I could see them but hey). This, or they run to the top of my head in a move I imagine is "surveying their kingdom". They aren't sure happy with hands in their pouch (just a few nibbles to see what I am), but they will let me kind of fumble them up to run up my arms.
In the morning I wake up while they are still running around. Once I get up and start talking, Leota runs to the front climbing the bars to say hi. To reward this I give her a snack. Wicket is a little more timid, jumping back and forth but will eventually come up and I give her a treat (usually she then drops it, and since my cage has a wire bottom she loses it and then goes and steals her sisters because she's a brat). I took them coming up to say hi and running away from their wheel (the only toy they consistently like) as a good sign. Is this good behavior to reinforce? They don't really like treats in the evening as they haven't worked up much of an appetite yet. I just don't want to be spoiling them otherwise or telling them something is good that I'm not realizing is bad?

Thanks!!!

For gliders it is a good thing. Rewards after nail clipping help to make them forgive you faster.

Rewards for coming up to you in the cage help them to associate you with good things.

I agree with Feather. And feeding with fingers is a good thing if they aren't biting. Mine have accidental nips if they(Fiona) are trying to do a snatch and run.

Anything to associate something good where your hands are concerned is a good thing.

Fist time on the sleeping pouch is a good thing. They can't grab a chunk of skin if your fist is tight.

Yea they've nipped my a few times with the treats just trying to get them in their mouths but nothing painful. The only place I've gotten an actual nip was during fist time at first. I usually do tent time, and at a certain point they get tired and go back into their zipper bonding pouch. Then we sit on the couch and I put my fist in and wait for them to cuddle up. They used to nip a bit defensively but now they know it gets them nowhere. Interestingly, the only place they kind of nip now is my knuckles, which seems, after reading about the types of bites, is more of a grooming thing as my knuckles are a bit rough and wrinkly. It isn't an attack or anything and they like to crawl on my hand it's just on the knuckles. We sit like this for a while and then I get their dinner ready and unceremoniously send them in back into their cage to eat. I'm glad this is good for them though, as long as I stick to not a ton of treats!

Gliders learn not to bite like you said, when it doesn't get them anywhere. They just give up. Since we have had them longer I get an unintentional nip when feeding mealies. At first I did softly "ssst" them and followed with "easy". Now all I have to say is easy, and Fiona is a bit more careful.

Try not to flinch when bitten. It startles them, but they learn it can make you go away, if only briefly.

If it feels like it's more than just an exploratory nip, they get the "tssk!" But no movement. I just leave my hand there longer. Sometimes I love it further into the pouch if I can do it shows it's not going to make it go away. When they began nibbling harder early on I wouldn't take my hand out until about 5 minutes after they had stopped so it didn't seem like it was related to them. They seem to not really like mealies, I'm trying to work with them to get them to lick the insides from holding them with tweezers. The good thing is my girls like to hold their food first, so unless they are overexcited they use their front claw first to grab it. They are fine with petting and even small pick ups if I move them to my shirt, otherwise they like to just wander around my body.
