I've emailed Critter Love about this a couple of times and haven't gotten a response so I hoping someone here has an idea. I'm using the Critter love salad mixes. My question is do you pick a salad and use that or make all 4 and rotate thorough them? I've seem posts which indicate that people are just picking one. If that is the correct way to feed, why would there be 4 slightly different recipes?

I believe they're just variations, they've made changes since introduced. I'm pretty sure you can pick one and go with it, or change it up any alternating them in any fashion. I feel these later salads are easier than the original ones, some produce and even frozen items are harder to come by than others, so between the slight variations and the substitute options, it's more user friendly.

I did indeed respond back and I only received one email from you which was on the 5th of this month.
Check your spam folder, you may find it in there. wink

But to answer you here as well:

You pick one salad out of the four, make it and when that one is gone, if you choose to go for a different one to offer something new, you can choose one of the other ones. If you are happy with the one you started with, you can continue feeding that one.

Also, at any time if you feel your glider is not eating it, please note, gliders are not picky but they go through cycles... please read the following, grab a journal and follow along:

My sincerest apologies, Peggy. I couldn't find your response but my email regularly baffles me. Because I tend to over think things, I made all 4 and rotated them. Sometimes I wonder how I get through a day. Anyway, FYI, my guys love the salads. There is rarely anything but chewed fiber left.

I eliminated adding corn, it causes huge rifts in my trio's cage :hit: and fighting ensues! And they do not like berries much, none of them shakehead , as for peppers, they'll only eat the sweet kind, Otherwise, I do my best to include most salad items, some are harder to find than others, so I do love the options given for substitutes.

In my cage, the green beans go first, but on occasion I add a "treat item" s/a grape tomato, okra or clementine (these are rare, and only for a treat, so they're small amounts placed on top of serving of salad). Then, they'll go for those first, then green beans, so I add extra green beans.

Kudos on finding everything for all 4 salads! I think I'm having issues with the corn too.

If you are following the directions and weights on how to make the salads, then it is fine they always go to the corn first.

That is why these salads were put together the way they are. I think over the years people have stressed so much on corn that everyone is afraid to feed it now.

Please dont be. Follow the directions of the salad and feed it as instructed. There are alot of plus factors about corn as well. Did you know that is where they get some of their protein? Corn is high in protein. It is also one of the good carbohydrates as well as magnesium and potassium.

As long as corn is not the only side you are offering your glider, please do not keep them from it.
