Hello! I have had my two boys for around two months now. I have been doing tent time and the bonding pouch very frequently and it has been working very well with one of the boys. The one is getting very comfortable with me and will climb all over me. The other one has been biting me more and more. It's very random though, he will come over to say hi and just randomly chomp down on me multiple times (harder and harder) without any warning. I have tried hissing and then if it doesn't stop gently blowing on him, but he still does it a lot and I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?

Biting can be from several things...

First, are you using unscented soap? If your soap has a fruity scent, he may be tasting you.

Second, if he is young, he might be just checking out his environment. Tasting is another way.

Have a toy or a piece of fleece handy... When he tries , give him something else to bite.

Some gliders get fixated on biting. You have tried a stern "Sssst or Tssss or Ssshhht!"? Sometimes followed by a loud No helps distract them too. Also push their nose away. Try not to dlinch or pull your hand away. It teaches them that biting makes you go away...

The soap that I use for my body is unscented, my hand soap is lemon, but he is more frequently biting my body than my hands. He is about 7 months old, so he is still young. My other glider "tastes" me which I am used to, but I don't feel like this one is tasting me too. I have been making that sound every time he bites and have been trying to not pull away or anything, unless it hurts a lot.

One of my two gliders likes to bite as well - not usually hard enough to draw blood, but hard enough to hurt. When the tsking and blowing in his face doesn't work, I've found that distracting him with something else to chew on can be effective. Bamboo skewers (for making kabobs) are a new favorite chew toy for both of my gliders. smile
