Roxie still is the smallest of my 4 gliders. Not only does she weigh less, but is still smaller than the other 3. The first two are sisters and weigh in the 74-80G range depending on the day. They've been running even on their weight and size along with Yuki who also is 80g. Roxie though still is in the low 60s last I check and physically smaller than the others. I've had Lilo & Kara since February, then came Yuki and Roxie the end of May.

As I said before Roxie has always seemed "special". She went from being like a wild animal, scared or everything and nonstop crabbing, to still being a little scared, but now she can be so sweet. She also seems to be a dwarf glider or something. She wakes up before the other 3 and gets on the wheel around 9:30pm usually. She then sometimes goes back to sleep with the others in the pouch until they wake up. She treats them like big sisters and seems to get excited when they come out of the pouch. When we take the others out with the pouch to go poop(since she's up before them and running around) n peeps(don't judge me! lol) and put them back in she comes over to them while they're initially afraid after being woken up.

When everyone is finally awake around 11:30pm, the three want to jump out of the cage and run all over me and eventually Roxie will follow them. She's definitely warmed up to us so much more then she was initially.

When the others go poop, you can see their cloaca kind of umm. Pucker out as the poops comes out. Also when they pee or are marking, the same. They have happy outgoing cloacas, lol.
Roxie on the other hand is different. Sometimes she poops/peep at the same time and I don't see her cloaca at all whereas the others either poop or pee one at a time. Last night she did them separately though. She also usually does smaller poops than the others(except last night, she pooped a lot and matched their size).

Is it weird that she doesn't have an outgoing cloaca like the others and is so small? She has a lot of energy and seems very healthy other than her size, weight, hiding cloaca, and how she pees/poops at the same time most of the time. She sometimes tilts her ears down when she's afraid also, but otherwise her ears are up. She was 25g when we got her in May just like all the others were when we first got them, and she's grown and gained weight, but she's not the same size/weight as all the others. Other than that though, she eats like them, runs around, etc.

Some gliders are just smaller. I wish I had more to say to be helpful, but I don't have any experience with joeys. I don't even know they're normal development throughout their first year. I do wonder though if they have "runts" like you find in other animals, or if maybe she was lacking from mom or taken too soon from mom.

I'm glad she seems to be healthy, but it sounds like you still have concerns about her size, have you taken her to or talked to a sugar glider experienced vet?

That's the thing. I think she is a runt. I know she's grown bigger, I know she's gained weight and even though she has her own personality like all the others do, she still runs the wheels, eats, jumps out and runs all over me, etc. It's not so much I'm worried she's sick, it's just I know she's different than the others and was seeing if anyone else has seen gliders like her.

I don't have any experience than having a trio to know how common that is. I've read that gliders can vary in sizes. Hopefully someone who has has that experience will reply soon.

Fiona is much smaller than Dot. They are both 3yrs+ old. Dot weights 137gr, and Fiona weighs 107gr.

When they were joeys, Fiona was very petite. This is her at 9wks.

The widest part of my palm is 3.5".

She weighed about 31gr.

She has always been healthy, with the exception of a UTI when she was 1.5 years old.

I was worried too, but was told it is common. The girls were adopted differently. We got Fiona from PP in Odessa, TX, and Dot was an 'accident' bred from Joplin, MO.

I wouldn't be too concerned, Roxie is just petite.

Whew! Good to hear! She seems fine. She's just smaller and weighs less. Full of energy and has become soooo sweet!
