I am not sure if Freddie and Barney are upset over the small space but they are wanting out of the bonding pouch. they usually are very quiet and enjoy either a yogurt drop or a coconut cube then hang out.
Instead, they are chewing and fusing to get out. I don't let them out unless it the tent. Do you think they are frustrated? Should I stop using their pouch? Is there something I can do that would be calming-other than talking to them.

Some gliders simply do not like being disturbed during the day because it is their sleep time. Simple as that.

Is this something new?

Yes, very new-first time. Normally I get them out and pouch them after a treat and back to sleep. Today grumpy and wanted no part of the pouch-just put them in their downstairs cage and settled down.

Then I wouldn't worry. When this happens, take your cue from the gliders. Today just happened to be a day they wanted their alone time agree Goodness knows, we all have those days wink

Even after all this time, mine hate closed bonding pouches. Thier sleeping pouch in my lap: no problem. Zip something shut & they want out like the devil was in there with them.

Hutch they were fine after I moved them to their smaller cage downstairs. I have kept them in the little zipped pouches with them since babies. This was the first time they complained! I guess since I switched to full time tent time-just not sure. We did tent time-no nipping or fussing tonight but fussed when I moved them to the tent. I have a fish tank and so I never just let them go. Too afraid they will get in as the area with the filters (two canisters as a 90 gallon tank) could squeeze through.

Does your bonding pouch have a screen mesh for ventilation on it?

Yes, Feather they do. I have 4 of them and all have the screen although it could be that I need a larger size or they were just feisty today. Either way, I feel that my fish tank is a huge issue! It may be I need to find it a home-really would hate to though!

Dot used to hate zippers. The travel kennel: zipper. Glide-arium:zipper. Tent: zipper. Loud noisy zippers... I have a collection of zippers, and try to find quiet ones to use. She has a pouch she prefers over the others, and the zipper is quiet, and is about a 10x10" with a box bottom.

She's still not fond of them, but tolerates them. The bigger the bonding pouch the better. I tried to put her in a small bonding pouch a few weeks ago, big mistake...

On your aquarium, can you cover the filters with pet screen?

Feather, I do have boxed bonding pouches with quiet zippers. I purchased them from the same person that made my cage sets. I think it is the size and it may be time when both are in one that I need a bigger one.
They don't seem to mind the zipper on the tent btw. I use canister filters and have glass tops but they are several inches short and the hoses that feed to the water/canister would limit the effectiveness of a pet lid. I have thought of egg crate but it would not be tight enough to keep a curious glider out so that is a no go. I am still looking and hope to come across something...

I have a saltwater reef - I don't use glass as it reflects to much light but you can buy a screen that fits the top of the tank (sits in the lip of the tank) and is very easy to cut holes into if needed for the input and output of the canister tubing, heater cord, and any other odds and ends you might need to feed into it.

If you would like to keep the glass top you can buy the ridged plastic strips that most likely came with the glass versa tops. You can use scissors and just cut that as well to fit tight against the input/outputs.

If you go online many of the items are sold at bulk reef supply or doctor fosters and smith. Also a lot of pet stores will order in the plastic strips I mentioned smile I hope that helps with your tank concern!
