I got my new cage in the mail today from Exotic Nutrition ...I was super excited until I opened it. It was bent in several places frown While a few of the areas I can bend back and make it look semi-decent, there are 2 areas bent so badly the paint cracked which will cause rusting.

I'm so upset. I get my little girls on Saturday and that leaves me no time to return it. I went ahead and built it with the exception of the really bad parts. I will call them in the morning to see if they will be willing to work with me on a solution.

Has anyone else had issues with theirs? How is their customer service. Just not looking forward to it tomorrow. Anyway, night! I need to sleep this off.

Those shipping companies are so hard on cages. I am sure if you contact Exotic Nutrition they will help rectify the situation.

You may have to pick up a small bird cage to house them in until things get straightened out, but then you will have a nice travel/hospital cage.

I totally agree with Kim. Sorry about your cage though. Good luck to ya, it's very exciting anticipating their arrival, however can be nerve-racking when things don't go smoothly.

Don't fret over calling them. They sell a lot of cages. I'm sure they will understand. It just happens sometimes. That's why shipping companies have insurance.

I agree with Kim, a bird cage will come in handy over time. They make great hospital cages too.

Just an update, I did call them and they were very nice about everything. They won't make me send back everything (like I was worried about) but are just going to send me the replacement panels that are damaged. So that is super nice and takes a lot of stress off me.

I'll stop by the pet store tonight after work to grab a smaller bird cage as you guys have suggested. Do you just zip tie the food dish/sliding doors shut then? I imagine they could slip out of those easily otherwise.

You can get swivel hooks like these that will keep the doors closed but are easy for you to get open.

For the food you can get bird seed cups at any pet store which attach to the side of the cage.

For water many people use the water silo which also attaches to the side of the cage and can be purchased at any pet store.

I zip tie all the feed doors shut that I am not using, for those I use a swivel snap.

You will also want to zip tie your grate in the new cage, one in front will be good. Enterprising little fuzz butts can figure out how to slide the grate and make their escape.

There is also nest box door on the ends of your cage, zip tie those too.

Oh, thank you smile I didn't realize they could push those doors open. They snap pretty tightly shut but I'll def zip tie them to be safe. I have a great dane in the house so I don't want to risk a midnight escape run.

Thank you guys for all the suggestions, I appreciate it! I have a 12 hour round trip drive to get them tomorrow. I'm crazy excited smile

I have had a glider jump from one side to another and hit that door just right and it swung open, thankfully the rest in the cage didn't get out.

Congratulations on your new gliders! Glad I read this as I have that cage and thought the doors were snug enough! I will be zip tying those!
