so not really a questions or such but input from others. We have 3 cages with one cage getting 2 bowls due to some minor food aggression (that seems to gone away with the 2 bowls). but what a was wondering for those that have a varying shifts/travel times home. do your gliders seem to be more or care less about when they get fed as long as it before midnight.. The last week between my wife working a lot of later shifts and such and with my training bs last weekend. it been later in evening before the kids get fed. I try to put the food in by 945 pm most nights if not earlier if i get time, but I know a couple times it been 10-11 pm and tonight it was 1050pm ( which for a change everyone was out of bed.) they start chowing down right away.

Well, I try to get dinner put out by 9pm. I have fallen asleep watching TV and if they don't start barking and wake me up, I've been as late as midnight feeding them.

I do keep kibble in their cage, so they won't starve. But I feel like a bad mom if I'm late. But that doesn't keep me awake at night (pun intended) sleep smile

When things get crazy for me & I need to pull the extra long hours, mine don't seem too grumpy if food isn't waiting for them when they wake. I try to leave dry food in the cage anyways, that helps.

Mine always seem to be early risers. The girls typically would be up looking for dinner anywhere between 6-7:30pm. They did try alternate schedules at one point, maher they got up after 8, but seemed to settle within 6-7, sometimes 730. Then Olie came along. He's usually up near around 5pm looking for dinner, at times even earlier, less occasionally later.

I place, or try to place their dinner in around 7pm. I've done it earlier if i am going out and know I'll be home much later, or if my sister is pet sitting. I've done it as late as between 8-9 on rare occasions when things happen.

I do keep Happy Glider pellets in their cage, either in a dish, scattered in foraging toys, but lately mostly in their Snacky Mouse. Sometimes I'll still put some in forage toys with dried fruit and occasionally pine nut or yogis (Ollie is the only one who ate yogi). If they wake up at anytime (and sometimes they do, especially Ollie,mr hey should always be able to find something to eat if dinner isn't served.

Snacky Mouse! That's what it's called, thank you! Off the subject... sorry lol. I saw one on a suggie YouTube video and couldn't seem to find it. Now that I know the name I found them on Amazon no problem. Yaaay:)

not had pellets in the house for almost a year (we get the pellets and in a month we have moths everywhere) Plus we have 2 gliders that I doubt could eat them since they have so few teeth left.

Well, if you're worried about if they're going hungry or not (though I believe they'll be fine) & dry pellets aren't an option, you could try this: Zookeeper's Secret . It is soft & moist, but the downside is you'll need to replace it every 24hrs (I would only use a tablespoon at a time unless you have a large colony). Still, you could put it in before you head out & if you're running very late, you'd know they have something that will hold them over.

Only offering thoughts & options. As I said, I bet they'd be fine with occasional late meals.

thanks guys for input I was only looking to see about what time frame people put food in ( or if late how long off normal they done it.

If I ever get working proper hours at bestbuy and can earn a proper check I am going to look into a couple ideals I had . I see a big difference in amount ate and what they fed recently so i might be switching up their food more.
We found that the diets work best if they eat all the food but our groups are pickier wont eat strawberries or bananas and my Horde group wont even touch leafy greens they want their veggies and fruit ( prefer fruit mainly if offered) but I watch them eat just the staple out of their food and leave the rest ( when offered baby food items) I going to order pellets this summer or pick some up at SGGA if we can still go ( lack of proper working hours killing the savings account for trip)

Mechnut,
If we have to go in early while working overnight, I will put their food in their cage while it's frozen so hopefully when they wake up it stays fresh longer. I've had to put their food out as early as 2pm frozen. I do freeze their dishes too.

We have to pull 16-18 hour days occasionally.(That isn't over time either, BTW. We are contractors.)

oh i Know how it is. I have gotten off at 8 pm and it more less easier to wait at my wife job an hour r 2 than it it to go home and then come back out. but there been time she to get off say 930 and does not get to leave until like 10- 1 pm depending on how bad the store is when they close. so it been like midnight when we get home a couple times between the bank run and then driving home after lol.

If you're getting pantry moths from your kibble, put it in the freezer. It should kill the eggs.

I get them from the parrots kibble.
