Hello all. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the little plastic springs that are marketed for cats? I've attached a picture. (They're about 3" long)They seemed like an interesting toy for gliders, but I'm still a newbie and very much learning. Any thoughts are appreciated. smile

I saw those and wondered the same thing. I by passed it because I was concerned with the diameter. They can get themselves in to trouble quick.

They look soft enough, but the inside diameter should be at least 2.25".

Just yesterday I saw someone on fb has used these to attach a single toy on the end for a gliders' cage, and the gliders were playing with it. It is the only time I have seen them used.

If you use them, I would watch/check them closely for any chewing or other signs they might be dangerous to the gliders.

I am assuming they do not spring back so quick or snap back in a way they could cause injury.

They don't snap or anything but dimensions are 4.5x2.5x2.5cm. I think that's too small...

I know the miniature slinky has been recommended not to use in their cages. I had considered those at one time too.

I have made a toy out of a full size slinky(well part of one. I made it as long as my piece of scrap fleece). Hutch has one of those. Once it's covered in fleece and hung in the cage, it unravels, kinda hangs like a loose spring. I don't know if his Gliders play with it, it was a test toy.

I wouldn't use them in the cage, you could use it for tent time (under supervision).

I'm not sure mine quite know what to make of it, honestly. I like seeing them use it, but the confused/uncertain look they get probably amuses me more than them.

Yeah, I can see that... I have made a few per request, but haven't had much feedback...
