Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a replacement tray/pan for the shelf part of the critter nation cage? I don’t need the entire shelf, just the tray that sits on it. I can’t find it anywhere and I’m pretty desperate now.

Thank you

Welcome to glider Central!

I found this:

https://www.chewy.com/midwest-natio...XaJvg5VqskBaitul7ulNnfvG_QkaAi8OEALw_wcB

I think this is the same one:
https://www.amazon.com/MidWest-Home...ment+parts&qid=1619438327&sr=8-3

It is a replacement for several models. You could take measurements and see.

Thank you. That is for the bottom pan though..which is the large one. I’m looking for the small one that fits on the shelves.

Oh ok, I read it wrong... Sorry.

I looked and looked and could only find a metal replacement. And that's not glider safe.

I would remove the shelf, and make one out of 1/2" PVC pipe, with elbows, some plastic 1/2" mesh, and a bunch of 4" zip ties. It's super easy to put together with the only tool needed is a circular ( handsaw, any type of saw that makes a straight cut).

I didn't have shelves for my cages and made my own. I have a Brsbane and Congo cage.

I can walk you through it.

I just realized you have a DCN cage... It can still be done and you can alter or modify it to fit you/your glider's needs.

Also, if white doesn't appeal to you, you can find furniture grade PVC online. Maybe Home depot still carries it smile

The 1/2" square mesh is sold as tenax. It's safe. Just be sure it's 1/2" squares, not 1" x 1/2".

Also, it's easy to clean. I wipe mine down with a wet wash cloth. I don't remove them when the cages go outside for power washing either. A lot just drops right through, except large piece of pumpkin seed shell in pic. Lol!

Im new here. Sorry if posting in wrong spot.

Hello!! I now have 4 gliders. I just bought the double critter nation cage and an add-on unit. So it will be 3 levels. I have read where people say how to alter the critter nation, especially the bottom drup/fece tray, to be able to put under the cage. My biggest question now is how can you clean the bottom floor well, since it does not slide out etc, the droppings will fall thru to the catch tray, but there's urine that gets on that bottom floor and it will need to be cleaned very well to keep urine smell away or minimized.

I guess I'm asking for tips on cleaning the critter nation, in all aspects. There's so many nooks and crannies where all the nasty leaks and gets into.

I love how the doors open wide open to get to corners etc. I just need assistance or advice on best way to do the weekly cleaning along with the major cleaning that happen once a month or every 6 weeks.

Currently have the congo cage from exotic nutrion, the bottom grade slides out to clean well for it.

I just don't want a bad urine smell overpowering the rooms.

Thank you!

Hello! wave

Sorry it took so long to respond.

The bottom grate is easy to wipe down even though you can't remove it as easily as a slide out grate. The advantage having a triple Critter nation is the doors open all the way so you can reach easier.

I just use a car mitt and hot water, or hot water and a bit of Dawn dish soap. Wipe down, let set a few minutes and rinse with hot water. I use this to clean all parts of my cages when the weather doesn't permit to take it outside. Here is a link to the type of car mitt I use. It's great for getting in corners and between the bars. I'm not sure if you have this store in your country, but it gives you an idea what I'm referring to.

I hope this helps.
