I have two pairs of gliders in the same room, they aren't introduced yet and they're in separate cages. Anyway, my girl got away from me last night and climbed up on the other cage and they started fighting. I got them apart as soon as possible, but my glider's front paw was already hurt. She was licking it furiously and not putting any weight on it. She looked like she was in so much pain. She just curled into a ball and licked her paw for probably 20 minutes. After that she got up and started limping around the cage. Her paw was just curled up and she wasn't using it at all. There weren't any cuts or open wounds. She let me touch her paw/leg and I saw there were tiny tooth marks just above the paw. Tonight she is still limping. Her paw isn't swollen or hot, but she isn't using it at all. Do you suppose it is broken or sprained or something of that sort? Should she see a vet or is this something that can heal on its own?

Her paw is probably badly bruised. If you can warm compresses would help.

Continue to watch it closely for redness.

Keep us posted on her progress.

I agree with Feather. Watch for swelling around the bites as well.

Depending on how busy your vet is, it may be a good idea to get an appointment (just in case) for Thursday or Friday. You can always cancel if she recovers. Don't wait that long if she opens the bites from grooming it too much or starts swelling.

Alright, I will. Thank you both. My normal vet is typically fairly busy, but I'll see if I can make an appointment just in case. smile
