I currently feed Darcy's but Ive heard nothing but wonderful things about PML. How exactly do you feed it? What do you give for one glider? Can someone give me a rundown on what exactly you feed each night and everything? Im very cunfused. I was reading pockets version and it said its not a whole diet plan or something. Im so cunfused. Also, what do I need to buy to make it?? I know I would need the WHPS or something. dunno

Well every night each of my gliders get 1 tablespoon of the HPW mixture, 1 tablespoon veggies, and 1 tablespoon fruits. They also get a few insects each during the day.

Here are the instructions to making this diet, I feed peggies version
smile

This is directly quoted from a post peggie made smile

"Ok, Let me see if I can answer this for all of you. Do keep in mind that my HPW mixutre is indeed different (slightly) from the PML formula. I went according to what my vet recommended and he is extremely experienced in exotics, including sugar gliders.

First off, the link for the Bee Pollen is Stakich
Their prices are reasonable and shipping is quick.

As for the recipe and feeding schedule for my gliders

High Protein Wombaroo diet

1/4 c HPW powder (if you have breeding gliders or gliders that are nursing increase this amount to 1/2c)
2 c warm water
1-1/2c honey
3 scrambled eggs (I mix mine with a tad bit of milk)
2 tablespoons bee pollen

Cook eggs and set to side

In large bowl mix water and honey, stir until honey is dissolved. Add in HPW powder and mix well.

In blender add your eggs and bee pollen. Add 1cup of the HPW liquid mix and blend for 2 minutes. Add remaining HPW liquid and blend for another 2 minutes.
Pour in a freezer safe bowl with an airtight lid and place in freezer. Will scoop out like ice cream.

Feeding.

1-1/2 teaspoon HPW mixture
1 tablespoon mixed veggies
1 tablespoon mixed fruits

I also offer gliderade no more than twice a week.
mealies and crickets are for treats only.

I can not say enough good things about this diet. And once your gliders are on it, you will start to notice the difference in a two week time frame in most cases.

I had a lady come into my pet store, I had her change off the diet she had to this one, she recently said there was a huge difference in their coat, and asked if gliders got *winter coats in* I let her know the change in coat was from the diet.

Hope this helps you all out."

Also she only feeds 1.5 TEASPOONS of the HPW mix for each glider and I feed 1 TABLESPOON because my gliders gobble it all down and I dont want them to go hungry.

Ok, what was confusing me was that it said that PML is 50% of a diet but now I understand that it meant that you need to add fruits and veggies, duh. But, what do you feed for a protein source? If someone out there feeds pockets PML please help me. dunno

The PML mixture contains your protein source.

It confused me too. The site says the mix is 50% of the diet, but when I emailed her she said that "I offer an array of food items to my glider crew.
No more than 10% of their diet consists of fruit & veggies."

So what is the other 40%?

As I have stated in previous posts, Pockets has the ability to offer plants and such that are nativly found in Australia. She grows them herself, not to mention other items she is able to get from there through the people and friends she has there.

This is why I discussed this diet in detail with my vet. Knowing that there was no way I could offer some of the food items that Pockets was able to along with the PML, I wanted to make sure that what I did offer would be suitable for my gliders.

The HPW does indeed contain enough protein for gliders along with containing enough vitamins and calcium without the need to add more.

Many that do fix Pockets version of the PML also feed 1 tablespoon of fruits, 1 tablespoon of veggies and mealies.
