You really should take her in to a glider knowledgeable vet ASAP! Once they get bad enough to notice it's critical to get immediate vet help as they can do downhill fast and if not treated fast enough it can be deadly!

It can happen in the front as well, but only a vet with x-rays and other tests can verify this. If she is at the point where she cannot lift her head, she is very ill and needs to see one now. It doesn't matter if it is night time. She has to go. There are lots of us who have spent entire nights, then all day at the vets office for emergencies. It is a pain, and it is expensive, but it has to be done. If you need help finding a vet, let us know. If you need other help, let us know. That is what we are here for.
Shawna Who are you networked with? Networking could save your gliders life. Create one now.

I have been following your posts, and one thing you need to know is that you have an extremely sick glider that needs to see a vet without delay. The one things we stress here is that we are not vets so when you read us say that a glider needs a vet, it is because we know from experience that little one is in trouble.
Here are the vets listed in our data base for Ontario. I don't know if they are near you but you need to get the telephone book out and start calling any vet that is near you.
I don't mean to scare you but I just can't stress enough how desperately this glider needs to get to a vet. Other than trying to keep fluids going in, there really isn't anything we can tell you to do.
Try to find an emergency vet and go tonight. That's how serious it is.

I believe that is the place your vet referred you to before. I also gave you the phone number for the vet in Ontario with the 24 hr emergency service. I thought you were seeing the vet today? You posted about it yesterday. Did you see the vet today? Did the vet do any tests? What results came back from the last tests that were done? At the bottom of the page is a link called vets. There are several vets in Ontario listed other than the one I gave you before. There are reviews of the vets by other members who have taken their suggies to them. Call the vet who referred you to the university and ask them why they referred you. Call the university and ask if they specialize in suggies or have someone on the staff who does. You MUST get this suggie into a vet to get help. You ask good questions. Ask the vet. Print out copies of the different threads here on the board and take them to the vet with you. I know that sometimes at the vet or the Dr. it is easy to forget what you wanted to ask. So put your questions in writing before you go. Please update us on what the vet says. Godspeed Angel

i'm sorry to inform everyone that i was only given 2 options at the vets today, surgery because she is too far dehydrated with no gaurantee of her ever getting better. she was dignosed with a nerological problem i think it was the HLP, the other is putting her to sleep, please do not judge me if i choose this option it breaks my heart to choose one or the other but i simply cannot afford surgery, nor do i want to possibly loose her in the process, if i choose to put her to sleep i want you all to know i am truley grateful for your help i'm sorry if i did not do what you thought was necissary to get her better i tried as much as i could and i just don't want my baby to be in pain anymore. i will let you all know later what i have chosen

i came to the very uneasy decision to have her put to sleep i know she was in alot of pain so i thought it was best. she was the best animal i have ever had as a pet and i will miss her terribly. i thank each and everyone of you who helped me with her and i know she thanks you too. She is back with her babies now and i know that she's in a better place, there's no more pain for her now.
Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart, i plan on getting another glider i just need some time.
Thank you again
Adam
RIP Baby i will always love you and miss you forever
