JenJen, I've been following Kuzco's story with my breath held and prayers being said for his recovery. I'm sooo sorry to hear of his passing. There are no words adequate to soothe your heartache. Know that he knew you loved him, and that you did all you could for him, that you did all that was possible and in your power to help him. Don't blame yourself for ANYTHING, you did ALL you could to help him get better, and a LOT more than a lot would have done. Many hugs, and prayers being sent your way for peace and healing. *sigh* What a rough night...and i dont even want to look in the mirror...thank you ALL for rooting for us, and praying and just hoping for the best, it really means a lot to me, and I know he must be SO grateful for all of this too. I slept with his pouch last night...in my shirt (lol if anyone saw, theyd think i was so crazy) I pulled out some pictures (the ones i've posted) to bring to work to hang on the wall (along with my 500 animal pictures up there...theres already pics of my gliders but..not the one of kuz and gus) so I can look at his beautiful face while im at work missing him...and then I put up the other pic here at my desk by my computer since this is where i spend a lot of my time.. Gosh I am just so heartbroken..Ive never cried so much in my life. I feel as though, he came to me as a rescue..and i could not give him the long life I intended on giving. I guess everything happens for a reason...thats the way I like to think even though it just hurts so bad..Again, thank you all, it really puts a smile on my face reading all of your posts. its going to be a tough day at work...putting a fake smile on my face.

I think this will be the last post im posting on this...of course until I find out the test results and the necropsy results...and then hopefully Ill be bringing his little body home for burial. Heres a poem I just wrote for him...i feel a little bit better...
Kuzco, baby..I took you in to feel at ease. I wanted you to finally have your peace.
You were my sweetest glider I've ever had, You never really did anything bad. Except the days that I'll truly miss... are those days we couldnt find you, you were in glider bliss.
I always knew youd be the last one to be found, we always knew where to find you...by the rabbits cage bouncing around.
You and gus were always the first ones up, completely devouring the mealworms cup.
Baby...I just wish I could have done some more, but now...my hearts never been so torn... May you rest in peace Kuzco...I know its the end Hopefully in time...my heart will mend

Jenn, I'm so sorry. I didn't see this last night. A necropsy will allow the vet to take a look at the vital organs, and see if anything can point to a cause of death. However, you might want to consider having the veterinarian take sections of the organs for a histopathology, which is much more accurate, if performed by an exotic vet pathologist. This would need to be done today. Most likely your vet can give the body back to you sewn up nicely so you can give him a proper burial. If possible, please try to do that. It would be helpful to glider owners for years to come to know exactly what was going on with him and what caused the death. It might help us know more about these abcesses and their treatment, as well. I'm very sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful glider, as your pictures show.

Lucy...he said after the necropsy if he sees any tissues that look abnormal he will send them in to be tested as well. I already told them to go through with it...i will have to call to make sure they do keep his body for me. He said he'd sew him back up... such an awful thought...

I never know what to say to help console someone with such a loss. As someone said earlier, words just aren't adequate. I'm so sorry for the pain you're going through right now. You did all that you could. He knew he was loved and now he's bouncing around at the Rainbow Bridge waiting to see you again.
~Rischa~ My Sugar Babies Photos & Videos Rest peacefully until I see you at the bridge, Sweet Lillian. Mommy, Daddy, and brother Philip miss you terribly.
