Im absolutely sick, and have been crying non stop since yesterday morning when my boyfriends son opened the bedroom door and let the dog into our bedroom. I dont have kids just my 3 gliders(Mr. Bizzer, CC & Bridget)which are my children and actually, Bridget, I have had for six years until she was murdered yesterday by his hidiously ugly wiener dog. Bridget was just playing in a little shoe..and that dog...anyways, she died in my hand. I am so heartbroken...words cannot express the anxiety and pain I feel right now! She was my best friend and favorite out of all three - she was the sweetest thing that I have ever known and why it had to be my Bridget is cruel & unfair. Mr. Bizzer, her partner of four years won't go to bed since it happened and he is just sitting in his wheel..running faster and faster...he hasn't eaten since yesterday morning and he won't come to me or move from the wheel...even biting me..which he has never done. I don't want anything to happen to him...I pray to God that their little memories are short and that he won't know she is gone ..the other glider is a behavior trainwreck and seems to be following normal patterns.. I changed the beding( they live in a large pot on my dresser) and the cage is open next to the pot..I hope that makes a difference, but he hasn't gone to bed at all and Im scared he is as upset as I am, which breaks my heart even more. My best friend is gone and I would appreciate any insight on Mr. Bizzer
's behavior. Thank you so much

When gliders lose a long-time companion, they grieve just like humans do. It will take quite a while for Mr. Bizzer to get over her loss. It's good that he does have another companion to help him, but it will still take a while.
I'm so very sorry that this happened to you. hug2 hug2 hug2

I know words can't really help this kind of thing, but I am deeply sorry for your loss, especially since it was so unexpected. I will be praying for you.

thank you so much...Im so scared he will die. He is just sitting in his wheel and wont eat...since yesterday morning. I put a sock in there cause he wont come out - to keep him warm. He just looks so sad and he ran in the wheel all night long. Its just more than I can even take!

One thing you might do if he is still acting depressed and not eating is to try and offer him his favorite licky treats and mealie worms they love mealies. Try hand feeding him and if you dont see him drinking anything then give him some pedylite, gliderade, or gatorade in a syringe. I am sure he is greaving but you still need to make sure he gets fluids and food even if he doesn't want them right now.

I'm so sorry for your lose. Please don't blame the dog - he was just doing what nature told him to do. You may want to try to reinforce the cage so that the dog can't get near them if he gets in the room again.

I too am so sorry for your loss. I know it is devastating. I lost my 6 yr old 20lb cat on January 8 this year. My son accidently left the back door open and he got out and jumped into our neighbors yard with 2 big dogs in it and they killed him, so I feel your pain. He was my sweet boy and now he's gone. I made a mosaic with his portrait on it done in broken pieces of stained glass. It came out beautiful and took me about 3 hours to make and I cried through the whole thing and cried for weeks after. I still cry now and then as he was always in my lap or by my side so I know how you feel. If there is anything I can do to help ease your pain please feel free to call me if you just want to talk. 910-221-4650 anytime. I'm in NC.

Many Blessings to you.

Thank you so much for the kind words...it helps. Our house is silent because everyone is afraid I will completely loose it. Mr. Bizzer is eating and drinking, but still refuses to come out of his wheel. He just looks at me and then runs real hard and fast - then pulls his head back in. I spent time this morning with both of them and he seems to be a little better. I just can't forget the look on her little face...and it kills me!!! People just don't understand..that don't have gliders or haven't been around them...they all have their own personalities just like little people and I miss her so much... I appreciate the thoughts and prayers more than you know!!
