I would like to see pictures of your gliders along with which diet you feed. So many of us out there are always confused with the whole diet thing and I think it would be beneficial for people, especially the newcomers to see how well a diet plan is doing for your gliders. Best way to do that is to show your babies off. I will be posting pictures of mine as soon as I get home tonight from work, as all of my pictures are there.
Great idea! Unfortunately, my camera is in pieces from the move (several years ago now ). But my babies are in my gallery; they've been on BML from the start (except for Keiko, who was on Glider Grub for a month before I found this board back in 2002).

Winky had been on the BML diet since about a week after I rescued her in Decomber. I have no idea what her previous owner was feeding her. Hermione and Violet were on Dancing wombaroo supplement diet until they came to our house March 13 (I think). They smoothly went to the BML diet though. Look at my photobucket in my signature for pics of all three girls!

I believe it's pictures of the gliders Peggy is interested in seeing. We all hear about shiny coats, fluffy tails, and how healthy they look, but a picture is worth, well, a thousand words!

He had already eaten half when I took the picture. His water is on the left, then the dish with mealies & caterpillars, then his fruit cube in the last one :-)

Now, I would like to go further with one of the main reasons I have started this post. Curiosity I suppose, plus to really help the newbies as well as some of us.
I was discussing this with my vet and I asked him, why do some of the gliders have *clumped or seperated fur* where some do not. diet... large clumping or bad seperation shows a possible lack in nutrients or vitamins.
I am going to post two pictures here for you. One is with Dasher when I was feeding the Darcy diet. This was a couple years ago prior to using the HPW diet. The other is after he has been on the HPW diet. To me there is a HUGE difference in his overall coat and appearance.
I think this will show not only the newbies the importance of a gliders diet but how very important it is to have one on a proper diet. I am hoping others will also continue to post pictures (body shots) to show how the different diets can affect the looks of a glider and to those who do have gliders with large seperation (you are always going to see some sort of seperation in the gliders fur depending on the movement they are doing or how they are laying), please take this into consideration.

Kristin, yes, that is what is meant by seperation in the fur. You can see the difference in the two pics I posted above of the same glider, yet two different diets.
I got Soven from a breeder who knew little about dietary needs. She told me she feed "pellet food" and used "calf manna" for vitamins. Here's how he looked when I got him: Soven's 1st photo
I started feeding BML to both Soven and Maven. Maven was on BML at her breeder's home. They both stopped eating it after 2-3 months. Maven BML diet Soven BML Diet
After, they quit eating BML. I read a lot of positive things about Pricsilla's diet. That is what they eat now. Soven Priscilla's Diet The attached files are of both of them on Priscilla's diet.

Also: These photos things are making me crazy! When Jen posted photos of her glider, whose tooth infection she could tell had reoccurred because of the glider's nose color, it freaked me out. In every picture I take, my gliders' noses look like that! So, then I always have to go check on 'em all. (Note: in the pic of Rocket, his nose IS purple. It got bruised during his neuter)

If you all have pictures of your gliders on one diet and notice a difference in them when you switch them over to another diet, please post both pictures.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, and I really think this will help people make a good decision.
Many of us have made what we now know of to be bad decisions. This is how we learn, and thinking we had them on the right one and learning it wasnt is not going to make you a bad person, but hopefully it will help someone from making the same mistake you did.
I hope more will post to this. I know I have seen a LOT of gliders pictures out there. Some absoluetely beautiful and some with the seperated fur (but still gorgeous gliders) and I am in hopes you all will post and share your diet.
FIRST TWO.....This is my rescue little girl...These were taken on March 13th...I had only had her 3 days..picked up from the shelter...No clue on diet..But NOT GOOD!!
LAST ONE....This was taken tonight not even a month later....No more seperation and yellow nails are gone!! I feed The HPW diet!!

Maybe I've missed this, but how long has this HPW been out? I just went to the diet link to check it out. I'll try to get pics of my girls tonight to represent the SUncoast diet. They were on it from the previous owners as well.

Yep~ It's amazing what a GOOD diet, a manicure and lots of love can do! May-be I need a day at the spa ...
