Ok I have a question, I have been a bit confused about the generations because I have had so many different people tell me different things. I understand if you have a wf that is 1st gen. and you place with another 1st gen you get 2 gen babies. My question is what if you have a 1st gen and a 2nd gen wf? One person told me the babies would be 2.5 gen. another said no it would be 1.5 gen. another said no the babies would be always one number higher then the lowest gen parent.... which would make the babies a 2nd. gen. so can some one please explain in detail to me (and I'm sure there are others wondering the same question) about generations. I see people all the time say they have 4.2 or 3.75 or 3.25 gen babies. that also confuses me. I understand what 25% or 75% is but how would you get that? Sorry if this wasn't posted in the right place I wasn't sure where to post it at. Thanks in advance for any help.

Ugh. I am also curious to know. It seems like a 1st plus a 2nd would be 1.5 as that is the average, but I have always wondered about the half generations myself and I don't really know! I would love to find out.

If you have a 1st gen and a 2nd gen together the babies if WF will at least be 2nd gen because both parents are WF. Yes, I find the halves and quarters confusing also because some people count it out differently then others.
If you figure that the babies have 2 WF parents that makes them 2nd gen, then if you count the 2 WF grandparents on the one side that is where the .5 comes in. A 3rd gen would have 2 WF parents and 4 WF grandparents.

an easy way to look at it is like this

1 WF Parent = First Gen Baby
2 first gen Parents = 2nd Gen Baby
First Gen & Second Gen Parents = 2.5 Gen Baby
2 second Gen Parents = 3rd gen Baby
2nd Gen & 3rd Gen Parents = 3.5 Gen baby
2 Third gen parents = 4th gen baby
and so on
So basically if you have different generation pairs, you add a generation to the lower gen, and add the half, or 3/4 or whatever..... Once people start getting into the partial generations, a lot of them will just add a + after the generation to prevent confusion....

I probably just made things worse
