They may or may not need to get licensed. IF they have 3 or fewer females (of any species regulated by the USDA) then they do not need a license to sell the offspring. If they have 4 or more females AND they are selling gliders, then they do need a license.

What if you only have one breeding female, do you still need a licence? We plan on keeping this Joey but for future reference it would be nice to know. I had read it was if you have 3 or more breeding females you need a licence.

With only one breeding female, you do not need a license.

Right, only if you have three or more females (though some other intact species you might have are included in this count. I forget how many species the USDA regulates).

actually it depends. these guys are talking about USDA license. in some states the wild life and game requires you to have a breeders license too which here in Florida is 50.00 a year. and on top of that if you sale any thing gliders, pouches, food, cages etc. you need not only have a business license in your county but also have a tax ID number and pay taxes on any sold items. If you use a business name you also must register it with sunbiz.org (here in florida may be different in other states) which cost 50.00 for 5 years. I just had to go through all of this stuff my self which is why I know. I would call your local wildlife and game office and your local tax office to find out through them just to be on the safe side. If you get caught buying and selling gliders or breeding and selling gliders you could end up loosing your gliders and having hundreds of dollars in fines and court cost.

I was looking over the requirements to get an A license (for breeders) This is want it said: The following activities require a Class A license: Point One: selling of domestic dogs and cats to a: - pet shop - broker - dealer - exhibitor - research facility Note: Persons with 3 or less breeding females are exempt. (note that this only applies to this point) Point Two: selling of 25 or more dogs and cats or any combination thereof to a research facility Point three: selling more than $500 per calendar year or non-dangerous pet type animals to a: - pet shop - broker - dealer - exhibitor - research facility Point Four: selling of any wild/exotic animals, excluding hoofstock for: - pets - exhibition - research On another point, you need a B license if you transport for compensation! O.O This is all from here: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ac/dealer/requirements.pdfIf I want to sell any joeys that I end up getting, I do need a license O.O
