I've been using a bowl for years with no problems.
I think bottles are just too unreliable.

I use the test-tube type water bottle. Works fine for us. Some of the kind with the ball bearing don't work well - too hard to get the water to come out.

I have the regular water bottle and a test tube looking one that the water is released into a shallow well, and they love it. It's made for small birds, and very safe for gliders.

I tried a water bowl, but my sugar gliders would have nothing to with it - so we have a Water Bottle now.

I use both bowls and bottles always afraid that if they knock the bowl over they have the bottle and if something happens to the bottle then they have the bowl.

I have a water bottle for each glider (so 2 in one cage, 1 in the other). I've seen them all drink from it at one point or another and they all seem to do fine with it. One disadvantage with the water dishes is the tendency for them to get soiled, or, if you have a glider who likes to play in its food a lot, might get wet and catch a chill...then again my gliders are just silly so this might not be as much of a problem for others

we have one of both in each cage and honestly they seem to prefer their bottle....we use the test tube type mentioned above...plus we too have someone who just loves playing with their food...water included......so Jen it's not just yours....lol

I ALWAYS make sure to have two water bottles in every cage.. for every animal becaus eyou never know when a ball might stick, or it could get knocked off..
I did just start buying the LIXIT water bottles that have a clip that attaches to the bars of the cage and then the bottle attaches to that.. is makes refilling it SOOO much easier AND its a LOT less likely to fall off.. i HATE those darn metal things.. my fiance even said to me last night, "why arent these types of bottles the standard, i dont get the point of buying anything other than this"
And theyre the same price as a normal water bottle.

I use a watering bowl. It is like a dog water bowl but for small animals. I use it for two reasons. The first one is because sometime they like to soak there food in water before they eat it and it is realy easy to clean. I change it once a day. I put a water bottle in with them but they did not use it. Roxanne

I use small reservoir bowls. But they are only available in the UK now, I think.

I use a water bowl. I bought a lixit glass water bottle.. and it has like a spring holder that clips to the cage and u slip the bottle in side it but the bottle is to heavy and wont stay and plus even if it did stay i would be afriad the girls would try to sit on top of it and it would fall. I found one of those metal holders and stuck the bottle inside of that but the girls still wont touch it.. maybe they dont know what it is lol.

I tried the whole water bowl thing and my gliders jumped in it almost immediately. I got scared. I didn't have but just a little bit of water in there but I still had to dry them off. Crazy little suggies!

I used a bowl until Kieko starting pooping in it daily. Now we use bottles, and they all actually seem to drink more, but it's funny because they all fight over one bottle no matter how many are in the cage, and it's a different one every time so it's not like there is a "favorite"

I use a water dish and a water bottle. I've read too many story's about water bottles jamming up and gliders dying of dehydration. I change the water every day but just in case I get busy and forget....

I am so paranoid about my boys getting dehydrated from not drinking because they don't like one or the other that I have 2 bottles and 2 bowls and just deal with washing the bowls everyday. They prefer the bowls over the bottles.

I use bottles - the water is kept cleaner. Bottles MUST be checked nightly to ensure that they are working properly, or your glider could get dehydrated.

Just to build on this...do any of you have reptariums and if so, do you put the water bowl just on the floor? I've read previously of someone building a "shelf" or zip tying a ferret litter box or something to a corner pole ... The bottle we can sock pretty much anywhere in the rept's...I'm just looking for more suggestions on the bowl...
Feel free to PM me if this strays to much from the original post!
Thanks everyone!
