i have an older female i think she is around 3 years i have had her for awhile or like a month or so she wasnt very nice when i got her but she has changed a bit and i want to bond with her and she has a mate who is very sweet and likes to climb on me the female will let me pet her but not hold her unless she is in the pouch. How hard is it going to be for me to bond with her and do i put her mate in the bonding pouch with her <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I would bond with her seperate from her mate. As she is bonding with her mate more than she is to you. Its going to take longer than with a joey since joeys are more outgoing than adults that have jumped through a couple of home and have to deal with not so great situations. I would give it much more time since she is older, the one month estimate is usually for joeys not for adults.

bonding is different for all gliders. Some may take right to you, and some may take some extra time. If she and her mate enjoy cuddling together during the day, I wouldn't necessarily separate them. Instead, maybe try some separate tent time at night when they wake up. And you can always try bonding blankies. Sleep with a couple small squares of fleece, then let them sleep with them during the day. This will help them get used to your smell. I found it helpful to hand-feed the staple food. You can do this with both, or just the female during tent time. If you're feeding a liquid staple, use an eyedropper. It's amazing how much hand-feeding sped up bonding for me. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

I didn't say seperate, I was saying exactly what you said about tent time. instead of bonding with both at the same time I take one bond and then take the other bond. Thats what I meant about bonding seperately.
