You did an awesome job! It's given me something to think about when we move to our new house later this year.
One question: did you use the same finish on the INSIDE wood as well as the outside? Or did you leave that part unfinished? (I'm totally paranoid about what my suggies could EVEN POSSIBLY chew on...)

All of the wood is coated with shellac. Unfinished wood will absorb the urine and stink.
