I heard it was because it could be so stressful for them to be in a pet store. however, I recently went into a pet store that had a breeding pair of gliders and they seemed to know NOTHING about them at all. I just wanted to know if I had right to go in there and tell them whats what haha. also if anyone knows where I could find NH state law reguaring that, so I could print it out that would be great. It just makes me mad that theyre trying to sell them like a hampster or something.

I don't know how up to date this site is, but you can scroll down to New Hampshire and see what it says about gliders there. However, it only mentions private ownership - nothing regarding the sale or breeding.

Summary of State Laws Relating to Private Possession of Exotic Animals

I was curious because I was told by one store that they couldnt sell them anymore and then I found one in Plaistow and they have them. The cages they are in are rusty, they have pine, they feed then hard yellow and red nugget food, cage is right by the door and at a level easily accessed by small squealing children, and overall their gliders looked stressed and unkempt. I would like to serve justice to this and somehow see to it that those gliders find it to a good home and unqualified people are not distributing gliders and keeping them in unfit conditions.

You could check into whether or not they have a USDA license, and pursue it if they don't. Or, if that avenue won't work, you might be able to get ASPCA or a local shelter or humane society on their case.

Thats really sad, I'm sure if you contacted your local Huamine society and princted up how they should be properly kept and mad a BIG complaint about this petstore not following a single thing about how they need to be taken care of I'm sure the Humaine society would send someone down there to investigat and the animals would be taken away and adopted into proper loving homes!
