I have a long time to learn all of this, but I really want to educate myself on genetics. I have a WF 66% leu het male and a WF female paired. My female has ALOT of Mosaic in her ancestory. I believe they are both 2nd gen WF, I recieved so much info when I got them, but I need to reask the breeder about the gen. My question is, what can they produce and what is the percentage? I have both of their lineages, but this is all so confusing to me. Thanks!

Lol! Thank you Becki, that's the only part I knew! lol!
What are the chances of Mosaic? I have no idea how that gene works. Noelle's grandfather was a mosaic, and her great grandfather, and her great great grandmother. Nicholas, my 66% het is out of Javier, wf 100% het, and Cola, 100% het. Javier is out of Schezwan and Pai from Judie with My Little Gremlin. Cola is out of Shy Baby and Sesamie. So if I am learning right, it is impossible for them to produce a leu, but is possible for them to produce a mosaic, and they will definately produce WF. But out of how many babies?
And as far a gen. are concerned, is going up in generation better or is going down? Does that make since? lol

I believe in order to get a mosaic, one parent must show the gene .. Cool, Nicholas is my Simon and Willow's brother That means he's just a 1st gen wf because Cola is not wf Willow (66% wf) is paired with Wiggles (gray) Their 1st joeys last fall, I got a grey girl and a wf boy, both 33% hets. Several breeders who have met Arian (the boy from the 1st litter) think he'll prove to be a 100% het, and he's paired with a wf 100% het from a very bred out line. They just had their 2nd joeys OOP this past Thursday. Both were wf until about 2-3 days before they came oop, then they developed the bar. I don't think you'll get mosaic from the pairing. But, you'll get some wf (who'll be 2nd gen) and some 33% hets, very similar to my pairing. I'm not quite sure I understand the question about going up/down with the generations

It depends on how you look at the percentages. Going down in number means they have less of a chance of producing that gene. But people are starting to breed with lower percentages now to breed out. From what I understand unless your glider is a mosaic it will not produce a mosaic. It's like the WF gene. you only need one to produce it but it must express it. Two get a Leu you need both parents to carry that gene to produce not just one. I'm still learning about colors too, so if I am wrong some one correct me Here's a helpful link HERE

Thanks you so much! That was all very helpful! And you are right Becki, he is a 1st generation. So is Noelle. And that is so cool that you have Nicholas's brothers! He is such a doll, he is crabby in his pouch, but it's all talk! lol! I think I have the basics straight now.
No mosaics No leus Definatley WF's lol! So basically, I would technically be breeding out the line as well, right?
Since Noelle does not carry the leu gene and Nicholas does, their babies will be 33% het, and if I pair a higher percentage het with one of them, their offspring could produce leu. Yeah! I think I'm getting it! lol!

I think I understand what you're saying as far as going up/down with the "generation" label.
Later generations are more sought-after. I notice that many 1st-gen colored gliders (commonly WF's) are cheaper than 2nd-gen and 3rd-gen.
