I know they are nocturnal, but what kinds of hours to they keep? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Do they sleep more in the summer because there is more daylight? Or do they sleep their 12 hours (or whatever) all times of the year?
Do they only wake up when it gets dark? (The sun is setting around 9:30 here and I go to bed around 10.) Or do they wake up in late afternoon, like when I come home from work? Could they learn to wake up a little earlier in the evening so they could hang out with me?
I haven't bought gliders yet. I'm still researching. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/read.gif" alt="" />

That all really depends on the glider... Most of my gliders live by my schedule. They are awake when I am home so they can play, eat, and get treats. Not all gliders will switch to your schedule though... The key is being consistant with them. Wake them up the same time every day so they get used to being up when you are awake...

My gliders all start waking up about 8 pm. They play and then start looking for dinner (usually between 10-11) Some of mine do not like the light and if I have them on to brightly (mine are on dimmer switches) they will just stay in their pouches until I turn down the lights. Others don't care. I do from time to time wake some up during the day for short play times and also when I need to clip their nails and weigh them. They don't mind this at all because I always have lots of mealies or wax worms as a treat for disturbing their sleep. During the winter months, they will keep to the same schedule but it is easier for me to wake them earlier for extra play time.
