Have you considered adopting a rescue glider? There is a great rescue in Irving, Tx called hope for gliders. I'm sure there would be plenty of greys up for adoption. http://hopeforgliders.org/You can also check the classifieds here, and craigs list, there are usually gliders listed on there. There are plenty of gliders that need new homes in Texas.

If I adopt, what about the age differences, is that a problem?

I went to Hopes rescue site and they don't adopt out of the area. Does that mean out of state or what?

I think you have to do visits with the gliders and keep in touch with them. I'm not sure how far outside of DFW they adopt, but the best way to get answers would be to send Angie an email. I'm sure she would be happy to answer any questions you have, she's very nice and loves her gliders to death.

Actually, Angie rarely adopts out of the DFW area, but, it's worth a try. I got my first two gliders from Sandman and the gliders were fine. BUT - he is a mill breeder, he has joeys in an aquarium, the parents are in not so good housing and he sells to anyone who has money. I WILL NOT buy from there again. A couple places to look - one is SRLB, Peggy, in the nearby area. She is an excellent breeder and her babies are CUTE! Another place to find gliders in the DFW area is craigslist - all those people who bought gliders from Sandmans and no longer can keep them. You do have a risk of health issues or diet issues, but they are often virtually free - $50 for a cage and two gliders. Almost always under $100.

My husband bought me a glider from Sandman and he is a self mutilator..................dont know if that is in the gene pool or if its just an anomole....................I really dont condone getting gliders from mill breeders just small scale breeders for various reasons.......The first glider I got from a mill breeder in Canton died of Cancer after he was 1 year old...........thats 2 gliders from mill breeders ..............both horrible experiences....not to mention many times the joeys are sold way to young......feel free to call me if you wish and I will steer you in the right direction!!! You are not that far from me!!!

Oh yeah - Cora and MelindaKay sometimes have really sweet gliders!
Spencer was from him? When I was first looking at WF, he had a bunch in an aquarium. Scooped one out. But... well...
