I've been reading some posts on giving pedialyte for a glider with loose stools. Just curious how much and how you give the pedialyte. I know you mix it 50/50 with apple juice or water, but then what? Put in in a saucer, in their water bottle? Just had no idea so thanks for the input!

Pedilayte should be fed when a glider is dehydrated, it contains electrolytes that hydrates somebody. Loose stool can cause dehydration so we fed Pedialyte. I mix it with water so it can get dilluted a bit. Then i put the pedialtye in thier drinking bottle, never in a bowl they can drown...freak accidents happen. And i offer them the bottle and they start drinking. Feed in moderation. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Since Riker would not take fluids on his own when he was really sick, we gently wrapped him in a soft towel and used a baby animal feeding syringe to put it down him-about 1/2 to 1cc every hour or so. Hope this helps!
