I've tried to read every thread I can get my hands on about intros and I've read the articles that are links in many of them. But I've got one specific question I didn't really see..... Is there a suggested way of introducing a glider duo to a new glider as far as: A) Do you do the face to face intro with one & one and then one & the other and then two to the one? B) Or just introduce the duo to the one all together? Does that make sense? I'm just talking about the first face to face in a neutral area introductions......

I had a similar ? in another thread and was advised that it may be better to intro one on one first.

I'd ditto that idea. Good luck! Trios can be tricky

One on one works well, also doing it in the tub works wonders. Just be ready to take action if they do not get along right away. It took me a while to get my trio together but now they are best buds!

well what if the two attack the one? Don't mean to be negative. But that would be hard to break-up

What are the ages and sexes of the 3 gliders? Are any males un-altered?

I have a quad and I did the introduction one at a time, while still having their cages next to each other... then I started to have tent time with all four of them and all has been fine since December 2008.

2007 Rhapsody? LOL
With mine it had to be done in the bathtub...it was the only way my Willow would NOT attack Fern. From there they would sleep in the same bag, but then Willow would just flip out on her again. Meeko loved her at day 2. Willow took a little longer. After everyone had slept in a bag together I would give them playtime together in this mini tent that I have. Eventually I got a new rept and everyone has been perfect since that day. new cage=no territory issues...so maybe a GOOD cage cleaning is in order once you put in the new glider. Let the three scent it up together rather than the one being outcast because they smell "different".

I can share a great trick if you do have a hard time bonding. I got this from Lisa at Suncoast and the two I couldn't ever get together without killing one another are now happy! Get them in the tub one at a time put one drop of vanilla extract on the back of their neck. I guess this helps take their scent away a little bit and makes it a less territorial environment. It did the trick for Lillie and Cyper though so I thought I might share that. I haven't done a trio yet but I plan on putting another female (Layla) with Lillie and Cyper (since he is now fixed) now that I figured out the "trick"

What are the ages and sexes of the 3 gliders? Are any males un-altered? The current duo are brother and sister, but from different litters. Peter Pan is 1 year & 3 months OOO and is neutered. Tinker Bell is just now 1 year OOO. They have been together since Oct 2007 when they came home to me. The new guy (Kahlua from Lynsie at Lucky You Gliders and is a doll baby )is 14 weeks OOO and has been neutered for about 3 weeks. We have been 'preping'. Switching blankies and pouches and the cages are next to (but not within reach) of each other. The blankies and pouches are being accepted without issue (so it seems). The duo have multiple choices of where to sleep and have chosen the pouches I've been switching. Kahlua doesn't have a choice as his temporary cage is small. He fussed the most, but seems to have gotten over that fairly quickly. Get them in the tub one at a time put one drop of vanilla extract on the back of their neck. This sounds like a good suggestion. And I think I'll go with one at a time. To tell the truth, I'm 'guessing' the two guys are going to give me the least amount of trouble. (You know how us women can be ). Tinker Bell has a bit of her name sakes 'temperment' and is the grouch of the bunch. The guys are much more laid back. Hopefully they will be with each other as well. I'll let all know how we do with the actual face to face intros.......
