So, have you seen the commercial for the "peticure" yet? It looks like a dremel tool with a really cool safety top on it. I was wondering, do you think we could use one of these on our Suggies nails??????

Thanks in advance for your opinion... especially if anyone has one! smile smile

Check it out at peticure

Well, I have ordered this for my dogs. When I receive it I'll be able to know more. But for now I'm thinking it may be too big. But you never know.

Ya right - Lol, if your gliders will hold still for THAT, then you should have NO trouble at all cutting their nails with regular clippers.

PLUS, I would worry that the rotating file would pull their tiny hand into the barrel...

Well patty let me know how it works and if you think it is a good investment. I have a dog that is a baby about nail clippings but have been scared to try it so let us know if it is any good. I also wonder if it will be to large to use for suggies.

Basically they are just a dremel tool with a guard. Dremel SELLS a guard to fit dremel tools that does the same thing. So if you already have a dremel, that might be the better way to go.

I just got mine in the mail and in no way would I use it on a glider. You could harm them. They could loose toes or even a foot. Plus I think they would freak out from the noise and feel of it.

Now on the dogs I did my Parents Dobie and she was great for it. I have a Pug who is awful for mails with clippers and he was very good for this.

Faults are batteries are going to be rechargeable as you will need them. Could be I took too long but I was careful and took a while. And it could use a tiny bit more power...I have the PediPaws which is almost the same as Pedicure.

So I like it for the dogs and never would I even try it on the Gliders.

Hello Glider lovers! I do agree the Pedicure or any item likeit is not fit for any glider nail triming use. I did not buy it but just from viewing it on TV and the size of it was more then enough information for me to know it shouldn't be used on any small animals. Small dogs excluded.

Well, thanks for the responses. It did look big, but getting first hand experience from somebody who has it is best in my book. As far as dogs, big or small, I always use a dremel as opposed to clippers, but I don't have the pedicure, so can't comment on the size of it.

Patty & Amanda, I will waiting to hear your assesments too! Thanks! smile

I have one for my dogs, but NO way would I ever use it on my gliders. Even my cats won't sit still for it because they don't like the sound or feel of it.

Thanks Brenda, think I may have to get this for my dogs (don't have a dremel).

Is the head too big?? Or, if you get just the top part to go on your own dremel (I have a real quiet one, and it's small) do you think it still wouldn't work/be good??

Thanks, like to have all info I can!

I think that gliders nails are too small and fine and that with how fast the dremmels can go (and yes, I know you can make them go slower, but I think even then there is way too much of a risk) that you could easily mangle a glider's finger and/or hand if they suddenly flinched or pushed toward the dremmel when you weren't expecting it.

The cover is still very large and the smallest hole is not tiny, not to mention the space between the cover and the actual sanding band. I think you would have to hold the glider's finger inside the attachment to get the nail close enough to the band to work. I also find (I have small dogs) that it is difficult to maneuver the nail so that I can grind it off an the correct angle, which would also be needed on the gliders (which I would be afraid would expose the pad much to closely to the band).

Even on the most calm, laid back glider, I would be worried about what might happen. Their nails are just so close to the tender pads of their fingers, I would not risk something like that. dunno

I have one of these and Ive used it on my dogs and cats both. And it works well but in no way would I think of using it on my gliders at all.It does have a guard but it would most likely injure the gliders by using it.

Okey Dokey, that makes sense! Thanks for the input. smile

I just love having a place to come and get other opinions, as well as giving my own "common sense" a kick start sometimes! But you have to admit, it looked like a great idea! LOL

(I know, not funny to everyone, but I have to make fun!) wink
