Sweet Pea is doing SO AMAZINGLY, I can't even begin to explain it properly. She sleeps in my hand, she lets me rub her and play with her, she grooms me, she's just perfect.

Since we've made such great progress, I've started to expose her to mom and dad. For about a week we've been working with her, and now she'll preen them as well, and crawl all over their hands, without making a fuss.

Tonight mom had her hand in the pouch with her, as per usual, touching her and playing with her. Sweet Pea wasn't crabbing or biting at all, and was even licking. Then she started to make a tsst! Tsst! Tsst! Sort of sound. Still no biting or other hints of her being mad or scared, but that's the first time we've heard it!

It's not the grooming sneeze, it's definitely a sort of hiss. But I've seen so many mixed things about hissing! Is it okay? Is it good, or is it bad?

Sometimes they will make that tsst tsst sound when they are a little bit annoyed - as if to say OK that's enough now stop messing with me - I wouldn't worry about it, from what your describing it doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about.

It's a glider "I'm annoyed" warning. I actually make this sound towards my gliders if they are behaving badly (like chewing on the carpet) and it usually gets their attention and makes them stop.

Tsst, Tsst, Hiss, Hiss.... Mine do it when stealing food (mealie) from each other. I think it means they're annoyed also.

Funny - I don't know why they do it. However, my son has noticed that during the day when he unzips the rept to remove food bowls, sometimes a pouch protective glider will start to crab at the sound of the zipper. When my son makes that Tst sound, the crabbing stops instantly! He can make the sound perfectly - I can't do it right. They don't stop crabbing for me, but boy - for him, it is sudden silence!
