Peanut will have so many hammocks in the cage, we might need to add a cage to the hammocks. Yes, the Stealth can stay, most likely Emma will run and Peanut will hang on for the ride! Seriously though, Peanut will be able to run in the Stealth too.

I have a glider that is missing about 3/4 of her tail! she is AMAZING! I LOVE her dearly! all of your stories are truly heart touching. I got my Zola with her tail already missing, but none the less, she is "different" than my other glider. she can't glide, poor thing. Gosh how she tries though. so nice to see so many wonderful people pull together for all of these amazingly wonderful animals! I am so glad to be a part of this community!

Our female is missing a back leg. It was amputated at the knee.
The only time she has trouble is during tent time, and I just learned that last night. It was painful watching her get around the mesh, and I could tell it tired her out quickly. She was very awkward and fell a few times but I caught her. She did love running around the bottom, though.
The cage she is in is a ferret's 3 level cage. The wiring is closely spaced (1/2 X 1/2) and it has two wire shelves and ramps. She runs around it with no problem. I took the bottom out that came with it and rigged up a hard platic bottom covered with fleece.
I have their food and water bottle on the top shelf so she can sit to eat and drink. The pouch is next to a side so she can get into it easily, too.

Popeye only had a small portion of his tail removed, and that was na few weeks ago, he has yet tried to glide. I am assuming he stil can becuase there is enough left, but he just has not tried to? Amputee glider stories always touch my heart

My female is missing about 1/4 of her tail. I have no clue what happened, it happened in one of her previous homes. She has had at least 3 different homes. I feel so bad for her. I think that is part of the reason she is a bit more aggressive then the other two.

A Stealth is a wheel for sugar gliders to run in. I'm sorry your little one was injured. If you read through some of the stories here in our special needs forum you might get some ideas on different things that you can do for him. Usually amputee gliders once they have recovered can get along just a good as gliders with all four limbs. You might find a photo www.critterlove.com or www.sugaraesattic.com

My baby Noom is missing 97% of her tail. She came to me that way, Her previous owner said she lost it in a housing accident.
Although she has a tiny nub for a tail, It does not stop her from licking my hand till the cows come home.
Some nights I have to actually end our palm licking sessions, She gets pretty into it, lol.
And her girlfriend has a big long flowing tail, So maybe she's ok with it, I like to think so.

My very first sugar glider, Gerald, is missing most of his tail. He's got a little half-inch stub. I was told by his breeder that "many first time mothers nibble at their babies" and I didn't know any better at the time - now, I realize it was because they were in bad conditions and very unhappy. His mum was stressed out and she actually bit off Gerald's brother's back leg, too. My husband has always believed the since Gerald doesn't have a tail, he thinks he's a hamster... he prefers to walk around on the bottom of the cage He does spend a lot of time snuggling with his friend Stephanie's big bushy tail though... hehe. I think he has tail envy! What he lacks in tail he makes up in fluff and cute though ^^ I adoped a sugar glider named Velcro over a year ago, and if any of you have been keeping up with my thread in Health & Hygiene, he had a bad accident Monday night involving some loose thread on his sleeping pouch As a result, he's had to have his rear left leg amputated at the ankle. Last night was his first night without the foot and he's still very awkward, but getting around much better than I thought he would.

I just adopted a glider missing one hind leg. He gets around pretty well. The only difference I can tell in him is when you hold him he likes to take off constantly and doesnt have the best landing but really his landings arent bad considering. I didnt know there were so many "missing legged" gliders out there, that makes this a bot comforting. I may start a thread for my still unnamed boy.
