I live in Florida, but have always planned to move to CA one day. Of course, I know suggies are illegal there. What I want to know is, how did they get the laws to change in Georgia? Were their petitions signed? Congressman written? What do we do to try to change the laws in states such as California and Pennsylvania?

i myself agree with CA ban. the only reason being that people turn all kinds of animals loose and suggies would be too. than it upsets the US natural wild animal eco system.

Of course. Florida is much like CA or HI with the warm weather, lots of insects/edible plants/etc...suggies can and have survived in the wild here. Besides, a climate in which gliders can live isn't a good enough reason for a ban...Pennsylvania, Alaska, etc get too cold for suggies to live outside, I would think.
Why do we say, 'It'll never happen'? Perhaps with a lot of hard work...and lots of people...it could.

nobody said it'll never happen. I PERSONALLY don't think it will happen, at least not in my life time.

Personally I don't think PA and CA will ever change their law's - PA especially - it's a tough state to get any law changed - I had a potbelly pig in a farm area that happened to be in a mobile home park and the new owners of the park decided even though it was legal for me to have a pig they were going to charge me $10 per day until I gave in and got rid of Scarlet - so I had to take her back to the NO KILL farm that I bought her from - And I also had Sugar Glider's in PA and just didn't let anyone know and went to New Jersey to my mom's to sell them - but then I moved to Illinois where they were legal and now I live in Florida and we all know they're legal here - I don't know anything about CA but I assume that they'll be real hard to change their law's - Good luck
